Bored at work

I have a fair amount of down time sometimes at my job, so today I made a midieval mace out of an orange stress reliever ball and a 2' chain of paper clips..
Any funny bored at work stories anyone would like to share?

Paper clips are always a great tool for boredem while "working". I also like to sharpen my origami skills

Well, here's one. I used to work at the library at Ft Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. The library director insisted on keeping the library open 12 hours a day even during the last 3 weeks of August when summer session was over and fall semester hadn't started. Something to do with retaining library funding, I think. Anyhow, the campus was deserted. A friend and I were stuck being the two librarians on duty. We managed to fill up the mornings pretty well, but the time from 2pm - 6pm just DRAGGED.

Somebody had anonymously donated about 200 soft core porn books to the library as a joke, and the books had stayed in a few boxes down in the basement for some years. One afternoon my friend came up to me chuckling and said, "I just got a new library stamp."

"Huh?" sez I.

My friend showed me his new toy and it was a rubber stamp reading "From the collection of Rexer "Bubba" Bernt." Well, Rexer Bernt was the college president at the time and not very beloved at the library, since he always hit us first when funding cuts came around.

"I think we should clean up that stack of old aquisitions down in the basement and add them to the collection along with a little recognition for the doner. What do you think?" he asked.

I was delighted! "You're on!" said I. "The library summer aquisitions committee has spoken!"

We spent the remainder of the week stamping porno books and inserting them at random among the other books on the shelves. Just a little harmless fun on a few August afternoons. That was 15 years ago, and I hear that every now and then a freshman or a professor will still pull one from the shelves...

We have a ceiling fan in the office.

Like the air conditioner, it is always running.

I had thrown a baby shower for a friend. As party favors we gave everyone a tulle wrapped package with some M&Ms and a cute little butterfly shaped mini-slinky. Of course, I made too many of these things. I took them as my snack for quite a while.

So we had a bunch of these slinkies.

They were small enough that having them go down stairs, alone or in pairs was not an option. They were plastic, so no slinkety sound.

But it's very, very cool when you throw one up into the ceiling fan to see how many bounces you could get out of it before it when zinging off into space ... possibly causing minor injury to another employee.

I bet the new nut cases love it, too! I can see it now - some shizo with delusions of little green men, staring in rapt fascination at the slinky bouncing around in the ceiling fan...

Do you give such individuals an extra day of free treatment?

We were observed doing this once. The looney in the lobby (a frequent flyer) knocked on the door.

She said, "I'm the one who is supposed to be here for admission. Do you want to trade places?"

Since we got high speed internet we don't play with the ceiling fan as much.

Well since you got high speed now, you should give a showing of some of the animations from http://www.fat-pie.com/ to the residents.. a guilty pleasure to see their reactions to this stuff since they will all probably have nightmares that night. It has a warning that the elderly, children, and anyone on shrooms should NOT watch em.
Enjoy, I reccomend Salad Fingers, the music is way cool and its beyond creepy, and Burnt Face man, which is actually funny and not creepy at all (only thing on his site that isn't wacked out).

::edit:: ok i realized that some of his stuff is def. NSFW. Sry
