I know I'm a big nerd, but...
does anyone else play Dungeons & Dragons? :o
|
Not in a long time, but I loved it back when I did.
|
I liked the Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/Planescape: Torment games a couple of years back. And I've always liked skimming through monster manuals. But I've never played.

Not in about 25 years.....EEEKKKKK I was even a geek back then!!
I also used to play one that was based in outer space.....I don't recall it. One character type was a michilen (sp?)/stay puft marshmallow man type though.. |

We've been hooked on CheapAss games for a while now (Devil Bunny Needs a Ham is my favorite, along with Exploding Cow). We also play World of Warcraft - which while not D&D, definitely has that 'feel'. Yes, I'm Dagney, and I'm a geek :) (And married to one to boot - our children have no hope *G*) |
Not for many years.....but I was totally addicted to Ultima Online for about 4 years does that count?:P
|
I never played it, because it was already like 10 years old when I was born. But i've definitely been influenced by it, in my computer gaming of course.
A level 47 Dark Necromancer? Psssssh, got nothing on my RAGNAROK!!!!!!! |
Hated the game, loved the conversations between moves and the White Castle burgers we would get at 2am after playing on Friday nights.
I was Arlm, Far Ranger. And my most powerful weapon was a magic girdle. Another piece of the puzzle falls into place. lol!!! |
I'd play with my friends, and we would play the same adventure multiple times, doing things differently each time. And each time we would replay the same adventure, we would keep the loot from the last time we played, but it would miraculously appear again in that dungeon. After a while, we all had the rings of invisibility, gauntlets of ogre power, and the +2 flaming sword. It was like magic.

Oh my God.
I just realized I still play it. But I play with my kids, and we pretend we are superheroes. And we rescue people. It's called Captain Justice. And they beg to play. There's no dice and no books, but it's totally a role playing imagination game we play. We take turns making up adventures. Damn, I'm raising little nerds to keep me company. |
Nerd dads rule!

I'm only two years older than you, dude! :o |
He might miss a phone call playing that.
|
I gave all my books, notes, dungeons (my designs) and die away in CA, when I could no longer find someone to play REAL D&D. (more stuff than you can imagine)
If you don't have an imagination and you need toys to play you might as well play video games... kids... punks...pah! |
