The farmers in the county are pretty much crying; the early crop of about everything got damaged if not totally f[ire tr]ucked. It's come back to shirtsleeve and t shirt weather this p.m. The nights are cooler, of course.

Very nice pic Beestie - no "bee attacks" there I see :p

We got about 8 inches of snow on Saturday. Actually, I have no idea how much the final snow tally was but it was predicted that we would get 6-8" and I am pretty sure that is accurate. I will take some pictures when I get a chance.

We have snow!
Well, it snowed overnight, and there is still some on the grass and on the odd roof. All 2mm of it. Still, it was nice to walk in with icy cheeks rather than wishing I had an ice-cold coke. |
Our Swedish friends finally got snow. We've kept the little bit we got cuz its cooooooollllld!

Nice pic^^

Very AULD thread, but the UK is currently in the grip of an extreme (to us) weather system. Very strong winds and rain as per the BBC.

Was just wondering how other Brits - in more exposed locations - are keeping...? |
Howling around the walls and down the chimney and my neighbour's fence has gone.
My town is in the Severn Estuary and very used to wild nights (weatherwise naturally!) as the great bulk of our local weather comes straight from the Atlantic so we benefit from the gulf stream, huge tides and moisture laden cloud. Tonight though I'll sleep with half an ear open for big gusts which might bring roof tiles off, and go out to see the leaf fall tomorrow. |
I'm at home and we're getting the south part of that one... Not what I'd call high winds but something like 55mph and rain of course.
|
We had our first snow on Monday, what lay had disappeared by the afternoon though.

17F warmest it has been all week. We got a flurry and that was it.
