August 17th, 2019 : Chateau-Savigny

Michel Pont, now 87, was a driver for Abarth Racing in his younger clothes.
Then he inherited a 14th century chateau on 27 hectares (67 acres) of land.
Not just any land, grape growing land in the heart of Burgundy, France.

The grape (wine) business must be good, very good, as he is prepared to defend it...
...very prepared.

If it looks like the marauders are too strong for his defense, he’s prepared to escape by car...
...very prepared.

Should the bad guys block the roads he is prepared to escape by way of paths...
... very prepared

He is the world’s biggest private collector of fighter planes according to the Guinness World Book of Records.
Plus a warehouse full of vintage fire trucks, 200 motorcycles, 36 racing cars, helicopter, hovercraft, petrolina, etc, all collected
since he started in the ‘80s.

Nice place, but kind of showy.
Love Abarths.

Exactly what I would do, if I were to inherit an antique French castle. Except I would also have a gun collection.

Bien sur, you could shoot empty wine bottles and turn them into leaded crystal.

Groan... leaded crystal...

There was one of these on a local lot when I was in high school. I got to drive it once and fell in love. Zippiest 750 you ever saw.
