May 2006 - WELCOME ALL NEWBIES!

If you're a guest sign up and post here.

Having survived the horrors of Cellar-hazing, I welcome you all! Be a friend and introduce yourself.

I'm Steve, I'm 37, earn my living in NYC, and enjoy being single. I'm a Met fan, but not a Yankee hater. I am turning into a health nut, but I could still drink you under the table. Jager and Red Bull is my favorite drink currently, but I am afraid what a lot of Red Bull is doing to my health (not the alcohol, the Red Bull).

Don't be afraid of making short witty posts here, even if you are starting a new thread. There are some bullies here that would like to scare you off, but isn't it worth it to express yourself?

Steve's definition of hazing:

1. Show up, act like a 13-year-old asshole.

2. Get called on it and treated approprieately.

3. Whine incessantly about 2.

Stormieweather 05-04-2006 09:59 AM

Ok I'll bite.

I'm Stormie, a 40'something mother of 3. I'm an avid reader and self-employed accountant. I enjoy crafts such as jewelry making, sewing and gardening. Boring huh? Fine. I'm ALSO a muscle car fan, world traveler, scuba diver, an escapee from an abusive marriage, MMORPGamer, bottle redhead w/green eyes, and seeker of knowledge.

Nice to meet you all! I am enjoying your site and the 'personalities' here very much.

Stormie

Hi Stormie! Welcome to the Cellar! Wow, you don't seem boring at all! You seem like a great catch, and probably a cool mom. What role playing games do you play? Also, ever see a movie called "From the Hip" starring Judd Nelson?

Cheyenne 05-04-2006 10:13 AM

SteveBsjb: One of the nicest men I ever met on the internet.

Greetings all!

I'm a geezer (53 y.o.) residing in San Diego, CA. As an aging hippie, classic rock and home recording are my passions outside of wife and family. Celebrating 25 years of marriage in July, and all things considered, it's been great.
I stumbled upon this site purely serendipitously and it looks like a pretty cool place to spend some time, seeing what the world at large is up to through different eyes. Looking forward to hearing, possibly sparring with y'all.

I'm just sayin' . . .

SteveBsjb 05-04-2006 10:22 AM

Awwwww, thanks Chey! I appreciate that. I feel the same about you! Though you're female, that making you a very nice woman! Which is a good thing. Insert tab A into slot B.

Squeedler... 53 ain't a geezer! Not anymore! Congrats on the 25 year anniversary! That's amazing! What's better than classic rock? I'm listening to an old Who song as I type!

I play Everquest 1 and have played World of Warcraft. MMORPG's are great entertainment if you aren't big on the club/bar scene and not terribly keen on leaving your children with babysitters. They are relatively inexpensive as well.

"From the Hip" = Stormy Weathers...nope, my nickname didn't come from that or from the porn queen of the same name..lol. I chose the name when I first became acquainted with the internet and need a pseudonym. It was fitting as I was experiencing a turbulent period in my life and was quite angry and destructive. It was an enlightening time and I am very happy it is behind me. However, the name stuck and I even use it as my character name in EQ.

Stormie

Nice to have yet another user my age on board. There's a *lot* of aging hippies these days...and even more twenty-thirty-something wannabes who haven't a clue. :-)

SteveBsjb 05-04-2006 10:34 AM

To Stormie: College friends and I used to play Asheron's Call. That's Microsoft's version of Everquest. We had a lot of fun, but like everything else, it kind of fizzled out. I'm buying X-Box 360 soon, to try that out, see if I still have what it takes to invest hours and hours playing video games. At 37 (soon 38) I am tired of bars and clubs, the late night scene. Though I also know I'll never meet someone new staying in my apt playing video games all the time.

squeedler 05-04-2006 10:47 AM

Thanks, SteveB!

Classic rock rules! IMO, there has been nothing really [u]great[u] (read innovative) in rock since perhaps the mid 80's, if even that late.
I know I may get righteously flamed for that statement, so prove your case, ye naysayers!!! ;)
Good to be here.

I'm just sayin' . . .

SteveBsjb 05-04-2006 11:12 AM

Squeed, post that as a headline in the Entertainment forum, and you've got yourself a good thread!
