Sounds like a coal seam fire.

As in http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/...lia/55213824/1

Eta Zen's story, that is.

Great pics, Grav! I can even see the Canadian one clearly :p:

Might be worth pointing out that a pic of the centre of London isn't representative of the country as a whole :p

I took my dog out for his morning walk yesterday and he had to basically burrow his way to the gate.

Tis true though that it takes very little snow to bring the country to a halt. We get deep countrywide snowfall about once every 2-3 years.

The American picture represents America with one hundred percent accuracy.

It all looks just like that picture.

Even Hawaii.

Is Obama backing the Muslim Brotherhood? He wants Egypt to get back to elected leaders, but I don't think he'd be too put out if they did it by running new Brotherhoodless elections.

NFC. Clipped from Brit paper, looks like.

I just clipped it cuz it's funny, not aware of, nor responsible for accuracy.

Gravdigr 08-30-2013 02:47 PM

I don't know how you got anything outta that, really.

Probably not, at least not one people pay for.
They would never print so many exclamation marks (known in the trade as dog's cocks) and there would be nothing to blank out after London.

Please tell me that's all about convenience, so a "comfort break" allows you to top up on funds too.
And not because high-rollers really wipe their arses on currency.

Hell, if there was an unflushed $100 I'd fish it out.
Shit washes off.

Actually all of the above is obscene.
Including my attitude.

I disagree. The press has moved with the times, and whilst they might still be parsimonious with exclamation points in their own articles, it would be bad form to edit them out of a letter to the editor where they were clearly used to excess deliberately for emphasis.

This article touches on the issue (and also calls them dog's cocks)

http://www.theguardian.com/books/200...rk-punctuation

Also, the blacking is, I believe, over the postcode. This could have changed since I left, but it used to be that the first part of the postcode was printed for contributors from London because it is so big.
