Is that a photoshop? Coz I can't believe McD's would eff up that badly. But I would LIKE to believe it.
|
Well, seeing as McD's don't apply the decals to the buses, Ima guess somebody slapped a sticker on top of the McD's ad.
Cuz, you know, you can see it. It's wrinkled. Musta been a rush job. |
Based on the wrinkles and the thin white line under the letters, it looks to me like someone cut out the G and then stretched the burgundy vinyl to fit. Vinyl responds in really interesting ways to heat; this probably took only a few seconds to pull off.
|
Agreed, it looks like the 'US.' is wrinkled, like it had been peeled off and reapplied.
|
I dunnno.... it is *all* beef after all.
|
Until it's horsemeat.
|
It's shopped.
Look. The 'ANUS' isn't even the same font. |
The funny thing about "Angus Beef" is that it does not really have to be pure Angus. But it sounds tasty right?
|
Angus. Anus?

Actually, before it just made me think it was made out of some Scot. |

Oh, I don't know what's up there. I never dared ask!

'Aberdeen Angus' is a specific breed of cattle, but I believe 'Angus' is a catch phrase with no legal definition, which the advertising boys use to allude to better quality.
|
Ahhh I did not know that!
Funnily enough Burger King do a 'Big Angus' here. |
From now on, Ima treat the word angus as a portmanteau for 'angry anus'.
"The morning after those hellfire tacos found my angus burning." "Hey, Bill? Wanna go unicycle riding?" "Naw, Joe, mah hemorrhoids is actin' up, an' mah angus is really testifying today." |
Here Hungry Jacks (Burger King) do an "angry angus". They've even brought in an organic beef burger.
Pointless, of course. If you're talking prime steak, Angus is better than, say, Jersey or similar dairy cattle. Macca's and Jacks don't get within cooee of prime steak. It's ground up lips and arseholes, all the way. True, they're Angus lips and arseholes, but they're still lips and arseholes. |

I keep forgetting to mention that this thread reminds me of Colonel Angus. I sure miss his shiny face in these here parts... ;) [/SNL]

10 years ago or so when the Angus BOD decided they need a campaign to counteract Peta etc and gene identity proved the existence of the tenderness gene.
|
Cool. So with a little candle light and wine, they can slip that tenderness gene into the Herefords. Maybe even the Shorthorns and Highlands.
|
Oh she may be weary
And young girls they do get wearied Wearing that same old shaggy dress Yeah yeah But when she gets weary Try a little tenderness, yeah yeah Oh my my, huh You know she's waiting Just anticipating A thing that she'll never Never, never, never, never possess, yeah yeah yeah But while she's there waiting And without them Try a little tenderness That's all you gotta do |
Mama, where's your pretty little girl tonight?
Trying to run before she can walk, that's right She's growing up, she has a young man waiting She's growing up, she has a young man waiting Wide eyes, she'll be street-wise To the lies and the jive talk But she'll find true love And tenderness on the block |
Tender is the night
And the benediction of the neon light Tender are the hunters, tender is the night You're gonna want me tonight When you're ready to surrender Forget about who's right When you're ready to remember It's another world at night When you're ready to be tender Tender, tender tender... |
