Facial Recognition

Microsoft blog published Dec 6 2018, the company noted that despite many positive benefits, certain uses of facial recognition technology increases the risk of biased decisions, outcomes, and experience, with higher error rates when seeking to determine the gender of women and people of color.

Many more responsible silicon Valley companies are asking and studying this problem. For example, Google employees rejected software development for AI based warfare.

IBM recently said, "IBM firmly opposes and will not condone uses of any technology, including facial recognition technology offered by other vendors, for mass surveillance, racial profiling, violations of basic human rights and freedoms, or any purpose which is not consistent with our values and Principles of Trust and Transparency".

CEO Krishna then said that vendors and users of AI systems "have a shared responsibility to ensure that AI is tested for bias, particularly when used in law enforcement, and that such bias testing is audited and reported."

A sure bet is that Mark Zuckerberg will agree. And then Facebook with violate those concepts. He can't help himself. Its just his nature.
