Killing little fish in a big pond isn't a big deal. Also, creating the conditions in Iraq that have allowed AQ to flourish in Iraq somewhat negates the positive implications of this development.

Not according to the reports buy those fighting it.

Wait, you trust these people?

TheMercenary 06-05-2008 12:05 PM

Dude, I was one of them. So yea, there is much truth out there. You do have to sift through it.

That al-Qaeda is still breathing as a group seven years after 9/11 is not a good thing for the Bush Administration to be proud of. I mean, put this in perspective: the FBI broke the back of the Black Panthers in two years after the Black Panthers' peak, and at its peak the Panthers were a larger organization than al-Qaeda ever was. And the worst thing the Panthers have done was gunrunning.

They don't issue membership cards. The organization is not the problem, the school of thought is. If you count Al Qaeda and those who sympathize with it, those interested in being joining it or just being called it if they think it's the strong horse, the number is probably well into the tens of millions.

There is absolutely no comparison to an organization which had its limits to our borders. Apples and oranges.

On this point, we agree.

Ok, we let you rot in jail instead. Or better yet we send you to Saudi and let them have fun with you. :D
