"I tell ya, I don't get no respect..."

Anyone got any "I don't get no respect" stories?

I tell ya, I don't get no respect...

I came home after working 3 hours overtime. I said: "Hi kids, what are you doing, etc. etc. etc....." The eldest who was watching a dvd says: "you going to keep talking?"

I tell ya, I am going to like my clean house this evening. *evil grin*

To which your respose should be:
"Hell yes, you might as well hit pause until I'm done."

...or were you saying the consequences to smart-mouth was going to be a housecleaning assignment? :-)

Kids learn courtesy from their parents.
Parents get the respect they insist on.
Mine are now 18 and 23, and are uniformly polite.

How old is your eldest?

Cheyenne 05-09-2006 09:49 PM

My eldest is 19 and presently cleaning the bird poopoo from the cages. :)

"I tell ya, I get no respect...."

An outside tech (fondly know as a "knuckle dragger") stole a new Wire Wrap Gun out of my tool bag and replaced it with a broken one. Hence one reason I worked OT today.

I am going to enjoy seeing them on camera in the future. *more evil grins*

As a kid, I don't really have any, but I do have a few from the other side of it...

i respected my parents (and still do) because they told me what i should and should not be doing but let me do it anyway. they said i was smart enough to make my own decisions. i respected that and thought "fine, i wont fuck up then"

DucksNuts 05-10-2006 04:48 AM

I respect my parents and still do, coz if I didnt I felt my Dad's foot fair up my backside :)

"I tell ya, I get no respect...."

I still have my wire-wrap tools, but haven't built anything that way in a long time.
In fact the last computer I used wire-wrap on had a Z-80 chip in it. :-)

I work on everything in a Central Office. The only Computer type I work on is a 5ESS Switch. The wrapper is for wiring jumpers on the Main Distribution Frame and on DSX 1's. Yesterday I had 64 Jumpers to tie down and no gun 'til later in the day. grrr!

btw, I am loving my spotless house this AM. :)

Toodles, off to do more damage to the communications world. :D

I have a two-year-old... my list is so long there is not enough bandwidth.

Cheyenne 05-10-2006 07:11 PM

I had one that was in the terrible two's for 5 years.

I changed diapers for 8 years with no break. I STILL hate the diaper isle!

14, 16, 19...all girls. between the 4 of us it can become a real bitch fest every month.

Wow...now that's underachieving. Usually they're only in the terrible twos for one year. :-)
