April 8th, 2014: The Bradley: A Watch with Balls
1 Attachment(s)
This watch designed for the blind is so cool, not only is it up for prestigious design awards, but apparently only a very small percentage of those ordering it are visually impaired. it will be available later this year.
I want one too. the ball bearing round the edge tells the hours. it has no hands to get damaged or gunked up, and does not rely on sound (or light), or the ability to read braille. (Many visually impaired people become so later in life and do not have mad braille skillz) It's named after a paralympian gold medalist who lost his sight in Afghanistan, and the project originally used crowdfunding to get going. http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-26920782 |
Wow, it looks pretty neat.
I wouldn't mind having one myself, really. |
I already have two balls that tell me what time it is.

WANT.
Although I'm not entirely convinced that dirt/food/whatever won't get in there and gunk it up. Gunk is magic like that, it can get anywhere. |
The joke about the tourist in Egypt who learns to tell time by fondling a camel's balls.

I was wondering, too.

I wonder how well it has to sell before they eventually make one in women's sizes.

Looks like the second ball is the minute hand. 2:10. Now about AM or PM...
Hahaha speaking of camel balls: |
