I didn't think elephants could jump.

VERY CUTE, but looks totally shopped.
Angles of the shadows. opacity of the lil guy ...

Still love it though. Made me smile :)

Made me smile.

made me think of the Flying Nun AND Dumbo. a Catholic elephant?

anyway, I smiled, too, because sometimes just Being is Joyful if you can be Present in the Moment. (sorry, too much Eckert Tolle)

That's cool! :)

Elephants don't jump. http://www.straightdope.com/columns/...elephants-jump

But cute photo anyways.

It's an interesting article - but if elephants can't physiologically jump because of their weight, wouldn't it be possible for a baby elephant to jump? I imagine not just the weight, but the proportions and physiology would be different and might allow jumping. Another question for Tom Silva, I suppose ...

Elephant ears can't move into the position that baby's ears are in. They look more like a basset hound's ears to me. Those ears are drawn in.

orthodoc 01-31-2013 12:28 PM

You're right - the more I look at it, the less real the baby looks.
Oh well, it still made me smile.

Nirvana 01-31-2013 12:49 PM

real? not real? eh! It lifted my heart and made me smile :)

glatt 01-31-2013 01:13 PM

Me too. It's a cool picture.

All pictures of baby elephants are great. Every one of them makes me smile. :D

I've seen a baby rhino frolic like a lamb, bouncing about (definitely not possible for adult rhinos), and also a baby womat bounce about (ditto), so I find it quite plausible that a baby elephant could.
