Fourth of July Visitation

This is my first new thread after years of watching and commenting.
I am sure to do myriad things wrong but when I saw this July 4 mistake (when everything went off at once) in San Diego:

I knew someone was trying to get in touch

Any help to actually get this on the Cellar will be appreciated.

Good call! And WB!

Nice!

I was hoping for it to go on Image of the Day.
What did I do wrong?

IotD requires a certain format of Subject line and post. I was too busy to fix it up and make it into a proper IotD post.

It sounds like Beirut around here, rfn. For the last week, actually.

I hate fireworks.

Not as much as I used to - as Carrot isn't quite as freaked out by them as Pilau was - but he doesn't like them. And he certainly won't go and do what he has to do if one goes off during his walk.

Pilau used to be a quivering ball of shattered nerves, every fucking year. Before they tightened up the laws on fireworks sales we used to have a month lead up to Guy Fawkes Night, with intermittent fireworks most evenings, then the night itself would sound like a war zone and then we'd get a few weeks after of fireworks going off intermittently. I'd basically have about 2 months where Pilau would refuse to go out during the evening and I'd have to take him a walk at 1am.

Now we only really start getting them about a week ahead of Guys Fawkes - but the bonfire parties that used to all happen on the 5th November, with maybe an odd one the following weekend if it fell on a workday, have started to spread out: so some people or organisations will have parties the weekend before, some on the day and some the weekend after - some even a fortnight after.

I don't hate them, but this year especially I live in fear of the whole Fucking state burned to the ground. It is just hot and crispy here, everywhere. If that weren't enough, some cop saw some psychopath throwing burning road flares into the brush on the roadside.

Wtff?

Apparently they were traveling in opposite directions, and I heard the arsonist escaped. Fucker.

DanaC 07-04-2015 04:15 AM

Yeah - I can see how that would be a worry.

xoxoxoBruce 07-04-2015 02:49 PM

Every mother's worry.

Amen sister. We have a shit-ton of fireworks manufacturing here and numerous outlets selling them. I love rednecks but between the coal-rollers, 4 wheelers, and fireworks its been an ugly weekend.

Can't say the fireworks makers don't have their finger on the pulse... Hadron Collider.
