I'll choose a topic in which I won't sound like a total idiot to make my first post.

I had a sip of an Icee, McDonald's fries, and a six-inch Subway sandwich. I eat really healthy!

Welcome Nivek!

Having had a Subway for brunch, therefore no fries, I'm pleased to say your post made me feel very healthy.

No idea what an Icee is, but I'm about to go out to find something ice cold and fizzy - 28 degrees (82.5) here today. How do they expect people to work productively at this temperature? Thank goodness I won't have another summer in this greenhouse.

Glad it made someone feel healthy...

Today I am having my leaving lunch at Halli, which is our local vegetarian restaurant. Not only is the food mouthwatering, but the service is great and the staff are friendly and personable. They have a remarkable memory for customers' faces. I went in with my parents when they came up at Christmas, and when I went to book this meal (over 2 months later) the waiter asked whether my parents had enjoyed themselves.

Anyway - I'll be having the Lunch Special

Halli Special Thali
Traditionally, Indian meals are often served in a thali (a large rimmed plate) lined with katories (small bowls). Halli special thali have palaya, cooked vegetables, soup, yoghurt, sambar and dessert in the katories accompanied by poori/chappathi and rice. The katories prevent the food and flavors from mixing with each other

I had a "Himalayan Fusion" buffet (two rounds): Chicken Tikka Masala, 3xNaan bread, Curried Yellow Lentils, Capsicum Potatoes (something like sweet curried potatoes and onions, kind of odd but delicious), Jasmin Rice, Tandoori Chicken.

Then I had a half-dozen fresh homemade cookies from the country store next door.

Think that's a lot? You haven't seen me eat on a riding day.

I had a cheese quesadilla and a few cookies...the fucking lunch of champions. :greenface

Not lunch, but dinner last night.

For starters, king mackeral sashimi for me, octopus for SonofV.

Pan seared rainbow trout, sauteed cactus leaves on the side.

Prickly pear for dessert. Yum!

I'll be at the zoo today. Hopefully I can get a panda burger!

littlenickyer 04-13-2007 08:04 AM

the lunch I want is todays IOtD; unfortunately, the broken refrigerator pretty much dooms me to a peanut butter sandwitch

duck_duck 04-13-2007 08:11 AM

What is an IOtD?

Image of the Day, another forum area towards the bottom of the main page.

Everything bagle, toasted, with cream cheese, cucumber, red onion, and red pepper. We're out of hot salsa
