Awesome!

On a related note, my brother tried to make one of these when he was 15 in our back yard. He used a tarp and some tent stakes. It ended badly, that day, with a call to the ambulance and 40 some stitches in his knee.

I want to ride the slip and slide and I want to ride it now.

We had one as kids. The water pressure wasn't so great, and I think we lost some of the stakes, so we had red bricks at the ends to make the water come out better and to hold it down. Yet no one ended up with a concussion. The Slip and Slide gods must have been with us.

I always hated slip-n-slides. I never got the hang of the part where you throw your body onto the ground and somehow don't get hurt. I was never any good at sliding in baseball either.

Clod, you are the original gal geek, and I say that with the greatest due respect.

Clodfobble 08-27-2007 09:33 PM

Well thanks.

Well I never could do the base slide in baseball eather Clod ,
But there was a few long sloping grass covered low hills dove on in the rain , mud as well , and the ice and snow .
But the BEST was an asphault parking lot that would ice over , the ditch at the end was the fun part , filled with water with a thin layer of ice , the ONLY folks that hit the ditch were 2 older guys being towed by a friend on his SEARS motorcycle , they were on a sled , with a tow rope !!
It looked like fun untill they emerged from the ditch wet , cold , and they had ice sticking in their faces , like broken glass !!
At the time I thought it was cool , but they wouldn't fling me !!!!

It looks pretty cool, except at the end...is that wood holding the slip n' slide down? That could be nasty.

Well, he does say that the pool is 24 feet long and 5 feet deep. That should slow you down enough to avoid death at the bottom. That, and the sidewalls are pretty steep. Steep enough that it looks like you couldn't pop off to a side after you get to the bottom

Can you go down it without the air mattress, or is that an important safety feature?

elSicomoro 08-28-2007 10:20 AM

I'm thinking that could be the difference between riding in a Cadillac and riding in a Kia.
