My only question is why?

Trilby 12-04-2011 09:04 AM

looks like cherry, apple and ....

....lemon meringue?

Aliantha 12-04-2011 04:06 PM

I think it's apple crumble pie.

I did make a lemon meringue cake once, but it wasn't like that. I just make a cake, split it and filled it with lemon filling then 'iced' it with meringue. I used a blowtorch tool to make the meringue on the outside look how it does on a pie.

It was very good.

zippyt 12-04-2011 04:12 PM

it looks like pumpkin pie in spice cake ??

Got ya'll woundering about this dont i ??

Aliantha 12-04-2011 04:15 PM

You've got me wondering WHY zippyt!

zippyt 12-04-2011 04:20 PM

As Sir Edmond Hillary said " Because it is (there) !!!"

DanaC 12-04-2011 04:37 PM

Looking at the pics on the site, the pastry in some of the shots looks horrible. Too thin and dense.

I dunno. I'm with Ali. Just why?

I feel slightly overfaced when presented with a generous slice of gateaux...that makes me want to gag.

DucksNuts 12-04-2011 04:51 PM

I have the same "why" thoughts about turducken..then again, I dont like turkey or duck.

Lola Bunny 12-04-2011 09:47 PM

Interesting although I'm not quite interested. I'll try a slice if you offer. But for me to make it, that's alright.

I like the idea of a cherry pie baked in a dark chocolate cake. Kinda like black forest cake, but easier.

Sundae 12-05-2011 10:18 AM

How do you make a Black Forest Cake then?
Here it's just dark chocolate cake, filled with cream and topped with cream and cherries.

Far easier than making a chocolate cake, making a pie, then putting one inside the other and still having to top it!

Pico and ME 12-05-2011 10:27 AM

I'm talking really Quick and Simple...buying a box cake mix and a cherry pie and putting them together. A real black forest cake made from scratch is much more complex and better tasting. That's why I said 'kinda'.

Sundae 12-05-2011 11:54 AM

Gotcha ;)
