November 10th, 2015: World Trade Center

I came across this lovely sunset picture of the old World Trade Center buildings, in NYC.
The setting Sun shining through walls of glass is very cool.

However it does strike me as kind of... well... spindly. Hefty center but not a hell of a lot besides glass further out.
But, what the hell, I'm sure it was designed by professionals who get paid a lot of money to figure out that stuff so it must be cool.

There's a crane on top of the one tower, is this when they were under construction?

Has to be under construction. There must have been drywall partitions in the finished space. Not to mention furniture. That's a lot of open space on the floors for the sun to shine through.

Notice how the lift shaft shapes change at the sky lobbies, as the different sets of lifts start and finish

lifts/elevators:right:

Hate to be that guy, but it must be a sunRISE picture

The towers were on the west of manhattan, so the buildings behind must be east of the towers (and water in front is the west side)

Liar, you love it. http://cellar.org/2012/bwekk.gif
Of course you're right, when I found the picture it was captioned sunset, and I didn't question it. Thanks for the input.

Been there!
(something Mum and I always used to say to eachother when watching something shot on location)

Had Christmas dinner in the Windows on the World restaurant at the top of the North Tower.

Good photo.
