Mar 2, 2010: Tunick in Sydney

Spencer Tunick is at it again. This time 5200 naked people turned up at the Sydney Opera House... to have their picture taken.

Quote:

Titled Mardi Gras: The Base, the installation had been commissioned by the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which took place over the weekend
As the sun rose over the harbour, Mr Tunick instructed his subjects to adopt a number of poses, from standing, lying, and even embracing cheek to cheek
There's a lot more NSFW pictures, and a video, at DailyMail.

Is it just me that thinks that for a guy named Tunick, photographing lots of nekkid people is, well, perverse?

xoxoxoBruce 03-02-2010 10:30 AM

Perverse? He was hired, he's making money, if anyone is perverse (and I don't think they are), it would be the 5200 that showed up naked.

In the link, some of those naked guys hugging each other at his command seem to be a bit uncertain about it. If you could hug someone without actually touching at all, they are doing it.

xoxoxoBruce 03-02-2010 10:38 AM

They were trying to interpret cheek to cheek, without turning around. ;)

DucksNuts 03-02-2010 03:09 PM

There was Wang touchage during the man hugging ...

glatt 03-02-2010 03:21 PM

DuckNuts, were you really there? Did you take a road trip to Sydney?

rditlkustoleit 03-02-2010 04:16 PM

My mistake. I thought these were navy "SEe MEN" training drills.

Looking at this I can only say I am soooo thankful that societal norms include clothing. Somethings cannot be unseen.

I don't get Spencer Tunick. Never have.:headshake
