Denver

This is next, I'm going to do some product training for some of our distributors.

Three day trip with $7000 of A/V gear rented for presentations to three people. Mostly it's because we have to build a big video wall to show them what we can do.

That actually sounds like fun! Maybe stressful but fun.

glatt 08-19-2014 07:43 AM

I haven't traveled for work in years, but I always got a kick out of it when I did. It's a nice break from the routine. Even if you are only seeing the hotel and the office.

Spexxvet 08-19-2014 08:14 AM

No pressure, they'll all be stoned.

xoxoxoBruce 08-19-2014 11:40 AM

Keep this up and you can sublet the casa. ;)

Clodfobble 08-19-2014 04:11 PM

Going soon, or planning ahead for a trip in winter?

lumberjim 08-19-2014 05:45 PM

Are you going to sample some Marijuanas?

Undertoad 08-20-2014 12:10 AM

No time for leisure, I gotta have my A game on. I'm here now.

We cleaned the place up after this

That's Skyfall on the big wall, and now I feel bad I haven't seen it. They say it's one of the best Bond films and it sure looks great up there... but with no sound.

I like the big screen on the left with the interesting shape made by the monitors. It's kind of artistic and fun.

I visited Google a couple weeks ago. My brother's company got bought and he's a Google employee now. Anyway, they have a Google Earth setup in the lobby that has like 8 large monitors in a tight circle, and you and a couple other people can go stand in the middle of them and zoom all around Google Earth and drop down into street view. It's cool how immersive it is. But for whatever reason, they have a bigger gap between their monitors. They seem to account for the gaps with their spacing though. That front porch of our house really is that wide. The part that would be in the gap isn't displayed, so it looks pretty good.

That looks nice, Tony. I'd buy what you're selling!

Undertoad 08-20-2014 11:31 AM

Thanky! Is nice of you to say.

Figuring out that gap, the bezels and the space between the monitors, is the real trick. We are in a break in the conference right now and I am actually going to present that detail in five minutes!!

They'd be wrong. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but, the action scenes are too Asian-ed up.

I guess he'd have to buy a piece of property and then wait til dark, and smoke in the bedroom, under a blanket, with the lights out...

So you can't just hang the screens kind of orderly, and adjust the broadcast with the software to compensate? Then I'd guess when you get the gap figured out, all the gaps have to be the same?
