Here ya go, LJ
it's the only NBN phot I have, sorry it's been used a bunch. BTW, you're still at work? Do they at least give you a reach around? You're like the James Brown of Finance managers. |

Well, sometimes when you back away slowly...
aww it was a reach anyway. |

They are intimidated because someone chilled the brie and left the white wine at room temperature.
|
It looks hot. I'll bet it's really stinky right there. And snooty. Snooty, stinky people who'd hit ya over the head with a baguette as soon as look at ya.
Does anyone know what the French military is actually for? |
Crowd control at the Tour de Lance--ah, I mean Tour de France.

besides, without a French military who would yell "we surrender" anytime someone got close to the border with a stern look about them? |
I just checked with Janes and it seems those vehicles don't actually have forward gears, so that's that. [/snicker]

Based on past experience, I'd say that the word "stop" should be replaced with "to help".
|

:biglaugha :thankyou: that was funny as hell bruce!

A lot of people make the mistake of underestimating the French.
They've got big bombs, the Foreign Legion and enough arrogance to use both. |

 You're kidding, right? Nobody is going to get hurt underestimating the French. |

We crack on the French a lot here but if you look at their politics they're probably the least accomodating to their muslim population of anybody in the EU. Thats a position the American right should appreciate. Not that its working out any better for them than for the more multicultural states. The Europeans are caught in a grinder between paying for the welfare benefits of an ageing white population and bringing in young workers who will alter their society fundementally. I say thank God for the Mexicans.
|
Wasn't it the french that were changing their laws to accomodate the Muslims?
|
Maybe its fuzzy thinking on my part but before caving the French were banning headscarves on school girls, trying to force assimilation...?
|
I'm not right-wing but I still hate the French.
And I think you're right, Griff. They were banning head scarves, etc. Big to-do over it. I'm going to Europe next summer but I'm NOT going to France. If I want to be insulted and have people feel superior to me I can just go across town and see my mom and dad. |
I was in France last summer... I don't like France because I think it's overrated. However, the French people were all very nice to me and I had a nice time, despite being in France. If you act like a jackass, they won't like you. They didn't like a lot of the people I went to France with for that reason.
|
Admit it, Brianna...you're still holding a grudge against your parents for naming you after a French cheese. :)
|
If you want a good chuckle, try googling for "French Military Victories" and hit "I'm feeling lucky".

What, exactly, is wrong with Brianna as a name?
It's the feminine equivilant to MY name and *I* like my name. It's hard to twist into anything silly, weird or embarrassing and it's not corruptible into a female name without modification like, say, Tony is. No offense UT but merely changing the last letter to an I you get a female name that sounds exactly the same when spoken aloud. There are many such names and I'm glad I got THIS one. Although, had I held on two more days I'd have been named Ray III. Brian |
My name isn't really Brianna. It's my wanna-be name. My real name is --well, let's just never speak of it again.
i gave birth to two wonderful boys. They have pretty good names. If I'd had a girl she would have been Brianna |
Brianna isn't her real name.
I know her dark secret. Muahahahahaha. |
huh. i don't think i even know this deep dark secret. and... HEY! aren't you supposed to be getting a piece right now? why are you talking to us?
|
I got my piece earlier---9:30ish, and thanks for asking!
Wolf--I trust you to be bribe-able. |
I don't care *what* your name is. Your name isn't you, nor vice-versa.
My grandmother was named Ethel. I work with a woman named Gladys. I know lots of people who have strange names, names which aren't currently fadish or popular. I also run around with people who adopt completely different names. In fact, I don't even know some of their real names, and it has become second nature to me to call some people "Drake" or "Aislinn Firehawk", and even more odd than that. I think people should be called what they wish, but by no means should anyone be ashamed of their given name. Sometimes when your folks have gone, that's all your left with that they gave you. |
