A small contest

I'm sponsoring a contest for those who use Spamassassin to filter their spam.

The grand prize: bragging rights (Not much of a contest, sorry)

As I was cleaning out my spam bucket I noticed that there was a wide range of scores, from 4 (the minimum I have it set to auto-quarantine at) on up. I thought it would be interesting to see what the highest score I could capture would be. Then I thought, it'd be even more fun if there were more people.

So, what the heck. Post the highest spamassassin score you receive by midnight this Sunday night. (No fair tweaking the rules!) We'll see who got the spammiest spam.

You need a hobby.

SteveDallas 07-06-2005 08:10 AM

This isn't exactly news.

wolf 07-06-2005 10:40 AM

I can teach you to crochet. You can make your wife a bikini. Or maybe even Laura Dern.

SteveDallas 07-06-2005 11:18 AM

A very kind offer, I'll keep it in mind. (Maybe it's time to change my tagline, I've had this one for a while now . . . )

The least you could do would be to offer a nice pork shoulder to the winner.

kerosene 07-07-2005 04:17 PM

or a can of Spam.

BigV 07-07-2005 04:53 PM

:lol2: *snort* That's funny!

Elspode 07-07-2005 11:56 PM

Ah, but Spam *is* pork shoulder! Sez so right on the can.

Elspode 07-08-2005 12:05 AM

My SpamAssassin is server-based, and set up with the defaults it came with when my domain host put it on there. It doesn't read out "Score", instead, it says "Level".

The highest I see tonight is 40, for a message with the following subject line:

"Support her brother with the Weight problems"

I didn't bother to see what the message content was...

You can make Laura Dern from crochet? :joylove:

I am *so* on my way to Hobby Lobby...

Look for this pattern. My Hobby Lobby has it on aisle 5. I had the best luck with a size C crochet hook and a skein of Coats and Clark white cotton yarn. You should be finished with the project by Sunday. Have a nice weekend!

BigV 07-08-2005 03:20 PM

White? All I see is tan and pink. :eyebrow:

Tisk, Tisk, Tisk! I don't think you take your crochet very seriously.

(**reaches into her sewing kit to rap BigV lightly across the knuckles with her size K Crochet hook**)

BigV 07-08-2005 03:42 PM

But now that I see the damage that weapon can cause with a thrust, a slash and a pull, I take it considerably more seriously.

*yowch!*

Shouldn't you get a handlebar grip for that thing or something? I mean, what if you drop it on your foot?

SteveDallas 07-08-2005 04:57 PM

Size "C", huh?

Actually I never heard of Hobby Lobby ... looks like a neat place.

Oh...uh...yeah, that's right. Duh. Maybe you could make Laura Dern out of crocheted Spam (pork shoulder).

Mari said a K hook, but that clearly looks more like a P, unless the image is distorted ... actually it has to be distorted. The proportions are off.

Now these are awesome damn hooks.

marichiko 07-09-2005 02:16 AM

HAHAHAHA! And you all thought crochet was just for little old ladies!

I believe you're right, Wolf, that had to have been a "P" hook! :D

Elspode 07-09-2005 05:08 PM

Mari, I don't want that pattern, nice though it is. For one thing, it looks nothing like Laura Dern.

SteveDallas 07-10-2005 11:48 AM

Perhaps I should change the contest to see who can produce the nicest crocheted bikini.
