Alright Folks

i am leaving tomorrow morning to go lifeguard at a Young Life camp in Colorado.. so i won't be around to amuse you all for a month. That being said, I WILL have tons and tons of great picture to show you all of the summer time rockies, kids flying off the blob, etc. so eagerly await all that.

Take care

xoxoxoBruce 06-24-2005 04:03 AM

Bye bye. :)

Griff 06-24-2005 05:37 AM

See yah!

The summer exodus begins. Mine is fast approaching as well.

Elspode 06-24-2005 01:47 PM

There is nothing better than camp counselor sex. Here's hoping your female counselor counterparts are hot to trot.

If that's what you feel like calling it then yes.

Just got home today, took 200+ pics but i'll only post the good few so as to not to kill toad's bandwidth.

xoxoxoBruce 07-24-2005 07:19 PM

Bring it on.
Especially the camp counselor sex pics.

Bullitt 07-24-2005 07:53 PM

Cult? I found the article about the camp being created on the site of the former BHAGWAN SHREE RAJNEESH's property.

Interesting.

Bullitt 07-27-2005 12:17 AM

i use photobucket for image hosting, if anyone knows of some other free service that gives more space per image lemme know (most of mine are over one meg, and PB's limit is 250 kb per image)

Happy Monkey 07-27-2005 06:12 AM

Nice pics! Gorgeous setting for a camp. The blob looks fun.

I use flickr for hosting. No per-image size limit, but a maximum number of megs uploaded per month.

Undertoad 07-27-2005 08:06 AM

Outstanding

plthijinx 07-27-2005 09:02 AM

very, very nice. breathtakingly beautiful views!

Clodfobble 07-27-2005 09:20 AM

The girl is flying off the blob because the other kid on the left jumped down on it like a catapult, right? Or did she build up momentum on her own and he's just waiting his turn?

LabRat 07-27-2005 10:10 AM

Wow. Doesn't look lke any of the camps I went to as a kid here in good 'ole Iowa. :green with envy: Nice pictures.

yeah people just jump down from the top of the tower and launch the person sitting at the other end of the blob into the air. I've seen/have pics of people flying higher than the tower.. which is a good 25 feet up.

I'm getting a memory card reader today or tomorrow, so I *should* have more and better pics for ya'll then.

And thanks for the compliments :thankyou: .

it's pretty um.. amazing to put it bluntly. Something like $32 Mil of private donations went in to building the camp and buying the property. Young Life sure knows how to give kids just about the best week of their life.

And actually Rich that's a different YL camp. This was Crooked Creek Ranch outside Fraser.

melidasaur 07-27-2005 10:37 AM

Great pics and the camp is really nice too...

I worked at a camp one summer and everyone kept getting hurt on the Blob - severe spinal cord injuries and such - so i"m surprised that any camps still have them.

Melida

Queen of the Ryche 07-27-2005 10:38 AM

wow Bullitt! Can I go with you next summer? Remind me why I haven't moved to CO yet?
(I still have great YL memories from my teen years, even though I've never really been "religious". Just fun to have an excuse to get out of the house on Wednesday nights.)

yeah we had more than our share of scares.. but they have put some restrictions and whatnot on the blob since back in the day. 100lbs max weight difference, no double blobbing (two people blobbing one person), and 2 resident EMT's that live on camp along with all 6 of us lifeguards.

:EDIT: I'm also going to NYC this weekend for the Dave Matthews/BNL concert with my bro and my padre. So I'll try my best to get some good city/show pics while I'm there.

<-- wasn't a rich kid

*hijack* What is Young Life? I remember a few of the rich kids being involved when I was growing up, but never really knew what it was.

Young Life Pretty much a giant international non-denominational Christian youth organization.

BTW, I like your sig Labrat

mrnoodle 07-27-2005 11:52 AM

it's kind of a church youth group thing. i never belonged, but knew several who did.

Very nice.

melidasaur 07-27-2005 10:57 PM

All of the kids that i knew in High School that were involved in Young Life were MEGA rich... they all had these huge houses where they would have YL meetings in their basements.

Elspode 07-27-2005 11:29 PM

You evil bastard...now I'm pining even more for the mountains.

Looks like just about the most fun you might be able to have during summer vacation...assuming, of course, that there was plenty of sex, booze, drugs and loud music, too.

Just kidding. Even us sober folks could have a good time there. Nice pics!

grazzers 07-28-2005 05:16 AM

Wow, that looks amazing! Nice work!

That's because rich usually equals conservative which usually equals religious. They weren't in Young Life just because they were rich, trust me. A lot of my friends were in Young Life and they were far from rich.

What he said. Though Young Life does have some extremely generous donors, which we are very thankful for. Otherwise the kind and scale of ministry we do would never be possible.
