The Landmark Thread

*ahem* welcome one and all to post number 2000. you may leave giftcards in the basket. please enjoy a beverage and some cake. :band:  :guinness: :biggrindu

I've seen people comment on their landmark posts in whatever topic they were posting in at the time. I thought if we are going to take the time to mention our landmark posts, maybe we should have asingle thread in which to do so.

this is it.

I bestow upon you all this thread as my vain way of drawing attention to myself and my 2000th post.

Trilby 02-10-2005 02:25 PM

What kind of beverage? Oh, and congrats on being, uh, a poster boy!--now, where's that beverage..?

elf 02-10-2005 02:26 PM

Frigging bah. I was gonna start this thread. .. but mostly just to rack up more posts. :p

Congrats on 2000, lookout..

and congrats on 1000, Zippyt. :)

lookout123 02-10-2005 02:27 PM

heh,heh - she said "rack"

cowhead 02-10-2005 04:20 PM

http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cg...AG0VB5JH71.DTLhttp://[/IMG] [IMG]http://sf...llets3_lat.jpg

well I'm hoping that hotlink will work when I submit this.. and yeah? did you mention beverages?

cowhead 02-10-2005 04:21 PM

nope? oh well check it out it's funny.. in a way only california can be.

jaguar 02-10-2005 05:34 PM

I realized the other day I missed 4000, that was silly.

richlevy 02-10-2005 05:41 PM

Well, my stats are:

Total Posts: 1,269 (0.85 posts per day).

Now, in my defense, I do work for a living and do not post from work, which reduces my available time. At the current rate, I will not reach post 2000 for 860 days.

richlevy 02-10-2005 05:42 PM

um.... 859 days?

Wow, this is a landmark week, apparently. This is post 1000 for me as well. And I honestly wouldn't have even noticed that I was at 999 if this thread hadn't been started... so thanks lookout, for reminding me to celebrate. :)

elf 02-11-2005 09:23 AM

Woo! 157!
<small>Hey, I <i>like</I> number one hundred and fifty-seven. </small>

wolf 02-11-2005 11:35 AM

I typically realize that I've had a "landmark post" somewhere between 20 to 30 posts later.

I now have 500 posts.

breakingnews 03-02-2005 05:52 PM

Hmm ... rounding turn three to 500 ... that word association thread could potentially put me over the top.

wolf 03-03-2005 01:35 AM

Not if you keep typing that fast, it won't.

wolf 03-03-2005 01:41 AM

Quite unbelieveably, I actually noticed this time.

Heheh ... it's hot. Girls don't often discuss their physical aspects in such casual terms, and when they do, it rocks. ;)

For the record, I am a hair and legs kinda guy. But not hairy legs. No no. Nice head of hair & nice hairless legs are good.

You really need to find a hobby or something....way too much time on your hands? ;)

wolf 03-03-2005 10:06 PM

This is his hobby.

LabRat 03-07-2005 08:54 AM

Late to this thread... Griff, where'd you get the Herky pic? I walk by them every day! --Well, I did when they were up...

Griff 03-07-2005 07:54 PM

Google image search "landmark" I believe.

lookout123 03-18-2005 01:20 PM

ok folks this is post number 2500. that is cool, but i just realized that i've dropped 500 posts in like 36 days. i may have to stop for awhile.

elf 03-18-2005 02:42 PM

Woo! 200! I'm a postin' maniac!

Congrats, lookout :D Kind of making this thread counterproductive if you stop posting because of it, though. . .

BigV 03-19-2005 09:54 PM

Look, in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane!

Your math was off, LJ. But at these scales, that could be attributed to rounding error. Good Grief! Who knew Yoda and Gandi's sensei had so much to say.

Congrats xoB on piercing the 10000 mark!

BigV 03-19-2005 11:46 PM

Quarter-Ton!

500 posts, but it's kinda lonely...

Anybody out there? (echo echo echo)

cowhead 03-20-2005 01:46 AM

shit I'm still a newbie and I think I spend too much time here... I guess I'm right past 300.. gimmie some time and some inspiration!

404Error 03-20-2005 05:09 AM

You need only to look to xoxoxoBruce's post count for inspiration. :)

Uh,...thanks. But it's no big deal. There were probably only 25 reasonable, rational, thought out posts. The rest are just smart-ass remarks, anecdotes and biased opinions.

lookout123 05-03-2005 05:51 PM

well. this is post number 3000. nothing exciting or new to say. i think i'll shut the computer off now, the wife will be home soon. it's time to go to Las Vegas!

Undertoad 05-03-2005 05:56 PM

OMIGOD it's too late to tell you, then, that 3001 is an incredibly mystically lucky number!

lookout123 05-03-2005 06:05 PM

sweet. good thing i was editing one of my other posts then, huh? :D

Happy Monkey 05-03-2005 06:05 PM

And an interesting, but not particularly inspired, book.

BigV 05-05-2005 03:52 PM

1K posts!

Well, 1K plus this one.

Edit: :highfive backatcha: thx

wolf 05-06-2005 01:26 AM

:highfive:

lumberjim 06-08-2005 12:41 AM

and now for my 4600th post, here is my 4600th post!

tada!

zippyt 06-08-2005 12:47 AM

Oh LJ ,you sick puppy , you !!!!!!

Sun_Sparkz 06-08-2005 01:14 AM

Ive been here since October 2003, and only have just over 500 posts. But in my opinion, i feel i spend a lot of time here in the cellar.. how the hell do you people do it! You must be speedreaders, and highly opinionated typists!!

Or maybe you all hang out in the ASSOCIATION threads too much ;)

wolf 06-08-2005 01:20 AM

No, we just have no lives.

Hey I joined about the same time as you (I think - what does it say? <--- ) and I didn't cross the 600 post threshold until just a month or two ago.

I feel like my activity here comes in spurts. I'll disappear for a few weeks, come back and post actively for a week or two, then off I go again.

But it's not that I'm not keeping up - I do read through new posts at least once a day.

I try to be active and contribute as much as I can hammer out after long days at work - but I think I'm a definite frontrunner for the thread killer prize.

:worried:

Undertoad 06-08-2005 08:10 AM

Number of posts doesn't count, only quality counts. I enjoy your stuff b-news!

Thread-killing only means everybody agreed with you... not a bad thing.

That's because you bring the definitive words of wisdom so often...like Budda......or Chairman Mao.

Queen of the Ryche 06-13-2005 05:58 PM

Woo hoo! 100 whole posts! Wow, do I feel special.....

wolf 06-14-2005 12:17 AM

Congratulations!

lookout123 06-14-2005 12:46 AM

whatever, i think wolf just wanted to create a leftcoast persona. ;)

wolf 06-14-2005 12:50 AM

:D I barely have time to keep up with one posting personality!

lookout123 06-14-2005 12:52 AM

sorry, i thought the whole multiple personality syndrome crap might be catching... you nut wranglers have to be careful.
