Orfordville, Wisconsin
This is the dullest place ever. It is full of rednecks and has nothing cool in it. It is very small with a population of about 1100 people. It is 20 minutes away from the nearest city. So, it is not a very cool place to live... :thumbsdn:
So, ummm... do you live there? Or used to?
Or just know it by reputation? :D |
Unfortunately, I live there.
20 minutes is a long time.
Orfordville is fun to say...
Orfordville Orfordville Orfordville! |
ummmm... ok... fortunately i will be moving away next year! or... this year... whatever...
edit: oh and 20 minutes is a long time cuz i cant drive and if i wanted to go anywhere i would have to walk, which would be like 2 hours! |
What are the kinds of things you look for to do that are not offered in Orfordville? For you, what are the top five types of places or things that make a place less boring? Your quality of life "must haves".
I would like to have a place to go and buy stuff like a mall, a restaurant so we can eat, a movie theater, alot more people, and ummm... other sorts of attractions...
1. 4 seasons
2. Outdoor recreation (lake, river, mountain etc) 3. several sushi bars 4. King o'Prussia mall 5. alternative education options 6. affordable cool housing |
whats that for?
That was my quality of life list... sorry, I was bored.
oh... whats a King O' Prussia mall?
It's kind of like The Promised Land, only closer.
Largest Naturally Grown Mall in America The Mall of America was built to beat it in selling space. This place just kind of happened and just growed. It started as a strip center. |
A strip center as in, stripping?
No, that was up the Montgomeryville Mart. Sad day it was when the closed Mickey's (formerly Mickey's Mouse, until the Disney people caught wind of it. Probably the only strip-bar in the country that had it's exterior painted like a big ol' swiss cheese.). I do understand that the week of the closing they went full nude. No pasties, no g-strings.
um, Where was this again?
Near the city of brotherly love, brother.
Oh, yea, see I have never been there, cuz I am not a hippy. So if you could give me directions instead of obscure love phrases, that would be great! ;D
Translate "City of Brotherly Love" into Greek, transliterate into the Latin alphabet, and you're there. It ain't hippy at all.
Oh, um, I dont know Greek, or how to transliterate into Latin and wouldnt it be easier to translate into Latin instead of Greek first?
Transliterate means leave it in the Greek language, but spell it with the Latin alphabet instead of the Greek alphabet. Translating to the Latin language wouldn't work at all.
oh, hmmm... well how would that work? could you like do it for me since i dont know greek or latin? so then i can find out where this City of Brotherly Love is?
Have you tried Googling it?
the city of brotherly love? no, but i will try...
umm... well i got some gay sports thing, found out it is a sports stadium with its own jail, it is a softball league, and i guess it is philadelphia....
so...going back to the subject; is anybody happy with its town or place you live?
mr ears, you live in the middle of knowhere, would you like to live in a city where 1.5 m live there too? trafficjams, noise pollution, etc i'd like to live in s africa, no wait, there are huge lions down there, no the middle east, no... too many extremists,... europe!! nah... not enough people of my age... asia? tsunamis for breakfast and quakes for dinner.... damn... cant find a place to live... and im stuck in s america, in fact, south south of south america, Argentina. |
cool, but why not try antarctica? not too crowded, a bit chilly but no traffic. nice beautiful scenery and not many things that could eat you! except for the occasional penguin...
penguins eat humans?, so if they do,... you have to be careful where you decide to place your landing strip.
:) |
thats looks cool
I grew up in a town about that size, and that distance from a larger town, but I loved it. Nature and quiet and so many stars. Fun is what you make of it. If you can't have fun in a small town, maybe the problem isn't the town, yo.

There is no doubt this area ( assuming the stretch of boredom reaches through Wisconsin also...and probably North Dakota ) is not real exciting. My first question is though, how did you end up there? Where did live before this mindnumbingly boring and frigid stretch of north central US? And what the hell is wrong with rednecks? Sure, they dont fit in NYC but it seems like your area was MADE from bumfuk rural types. |
Well, I was born in beloit and my mom decided beloit was a bad town so we moved to Orffy. And the only problem with rednecks is that there are to many here!
