How's this for a smilie?

http://www.addis-welt.de/smilie/smilie/mix/4413.gif

Though given the country where it's hosted, I imagine it won't last long.

flippant 11-10-2004 05:31 PM

uuuum...where is that smilies hand? I can't really make it out?

xoxoxoBruce 11-10-2004 07:53 PM

That reminds me, clicking the "mad" smilie with the cross eyes, tongue out and brown dreds (or leaves) yields this.

wolf 11-11-2004 01:19 AM

We could probably use one of the "tinfoil hat" smilies too. I've seen one somewhere ...

I'll get back to yah if I manage to find it.

Cyber Wolf 11-11-2004 06:32 AM

Are there any 'smack upside the head' smilies? I'd imagine that one could get used alot, especially in the politics thread :D

wolf 11-11-2004 11:37 AM

Now, do you mean a smiley smacking itself upside the head, as in a flash of realization, or one smiley smacking another in the head with a 2X4, as in "I'm eddicatin' yah, you dumbass?"

I would like a flogging a dead horse, too. (at this rate we're going to have ten pages of increasingly elaborate smileys we have to page through)

Elspode 11-11-2004 01:25 PM

With enough smileys, we could reduce communication here at The Cellar to a very basic iconic language.

wolf 11-11-2004 01:30 PM

We probably really only need :flipbird: and :finger:

Oh, and a review of the smiley list reveals that we do have

:smack: and :bonk: and :smashfrea

Griff 11-11-2004 01:32 PM

:litebulb: :guinness:

Don't you just love the way the glass magically refills like that? If only real life could be more like the internet ...

Dis 'un. Just his hand would be fine. But I guess a 2x4 would drive a point home though...

like this??

Cyber Wolf 11-12-2004 07:01 AM

Ooo...I like it. But I was thinking more of a slap to the back of the head that'd knock a victim forward...a "Shut up, boy!" kind of swat.

I take it there's places to search smilies that aren't born from or riddled with pop-ups...

wolf 11-12-2004 10:22 AM

Google image search sometimes works.

And LadySycamore posted a really long list of them at one point ... from the (*gasp*) Prince forum or something.

The pimp smilie gives me this :pimp:
instead of;

Undertoad 11-21-2004 09:27 AM

wolf 11-21-2004 11:40 AM

Wolf, you might be interested in the site I found this "tinfoil hat" smilie. Found it here: Full-Auto.com

Undertoad 11-22-2004 10:15 AM

The smilie is added. :tinfoil:

wolf 11-22-2004 10:20 AM

suh-weet! :tinfoil:

Undertoad 11-22-2004 10:23 AM

Quick note on this... I try to add a lot of 'em, but I *have* been sticking to the same style set on these. If you google for smilies or search around for sets of them, like I have, you'll find a lot of em in slightly different styles, or made to be larger, or etc. This kinda breaks the spirit of the smilie family. I think it's funny that they are multi-racial but for the most part only one species.

vbulletin itself introduced a gradient to the basic smilie which broke the notion. But it wasn't too bad :)

eek has migrated from this
http://cellar.org/images/smilies/eek2.gif

to this

...which is a great one.

And this pair :doit: were always "different", but so worthwhile that I added them anyway. So I guess if you suggest smilies keep em in the familiy, so to speak.

SteveDallas 11-22-2004 10:29 AM

Well I always http://www.barks.org/misc/rotflmao.gif enjoyed these two http://www.barks.org/misc/brickwall.gif... I've thrown em in once in a while off my own server.
