Happy Birthday Cellar

Happy Birthday Cellar!

You've been around many years, and have served as a welcome pit stop to many road-weary citizens. Here's to many more years and many more posts!

Oh Yeah - a special thanks to that UT guy for keeping things up and running for so long!

P.S. UT rocked the house last night at Finnigan's Wake in Philly - He was THE base man, layin down the base line. The whole room was feelin his bottom last night.

Clodfobble 09-20-2004 09:57 AM

Man, if UT had just started the server one day earlier, it could have shared its birthday with "International Talk Like A Pirate Day!"

Oh well, it's probably just as well that he didn't. Happy birthday, Cellar ol' buddy!

Undertoad 09-20-2004 10:18 AM

The Cellar is 14 today and it's still a ton of fun to run it for y'all, and I hope I can continue to make it available for y'all for many many decades to come.

lookout123 09-20-2004 10:20 AM

happy birthday and thanks UT.

LabRat 09-20-2004 10:57 AM

Happy birthday, cellar! UT's baby sure has kept me entertained, and I've even learned a few things despite my best efforts  THANK YOU for all of your time, effort, and $$ spent.

SteveDallas 09-20-2004 11:24 AM

UT rocked the house last night at Finnigan's Wake in Philly

Yeah, yeah! and he still managed to fit his head into the car for the ride home...!? He still wants to swap lines with the likes of us?!

Jax, I think you have a good effect on him! :)

marichiko 09-20-2004 04:42 PM

Way to go UT. 14 years of this place! If that isn't a labor of love (or possibly an exercise in masochism), I don't know what is! Thanks, big guy! ;)

Elspode 09-20-2004 09:57 PM

Congrats and thanks on this auspicious occasion, UT. In case you haven't noticed, we all appreciate what you do.

richlevy 09-20-2004 10:34 PM

From dial-up to telnet to web site, the Cellar has been there for me. Thanks for keeping the lights on for all of these years. :thumb:

Congratulations and many thanks, Mr. Undertoad. I didn't realize all this. From now on I'll be more respectful of yourself and your bottom. Fourteen years? I didn't know message boards existed back then! A new signature in honour of it all:

TheSnake 09-24-2004 08:53 PM

I always wondered who ran this. Good job Undertoad!

wolf 09-24-2004 09:01 PM

Happy Birthday Cellar! May we all enjoy many more. :)

TheSnake 09-24-2004 09:14 PM

UT, you should give a history of how you started this in 1990. I know back in '90 the internet was more of a hodgepodge of unstandardized sites, unless you were connected with a university you probably didn't see many people. My older brother went to Carnegie Mellon in the late '80's for eletrical engineering, I know they were messing around with some stuff there.

wolf 09-20-2006 10:51 AM

Happy Birthday, Cellar!!

Yeah, Lisa "looked" puzzled when I pointed out the thread to her...we just realized it's a two-year-old thread. :-)

lisa 09-20-2006 12:53 PM

Age

Yah... 14 seemed too young as I know that it was around before my engagement.

So, the Cellar is now old enough to drive! :)

Yeah, I have a problem being old enough to be its father!:sniff:

JayMcGee 09-20-2006 06:54 PM

still, at 16, I can now legally f*** it.

Happy Birthday! (do you want to come up and look at my etchings?)

xoxoxoBruce 09-20-2006 06:55 PM

You mean Grandfather?
16? I thought it was a little more musty, lately.

I suggest this would be a good occasion to hit the Tip Jar, at the bottom of the front page.
I know...... I'm a party pooper, but all this dust and cobwebs is an ongoing expense.....oh, please.
