Bourne Supremacy and Catwoman
Has anyone seen either of these? How are they?
|
Halle Berry. In a leather catsuit. How bad could it be?

Well, me to violence is kinda like most guys to sex, so as long as it has action, and not "sexual" action, I'm fine with that. I don't care about the story, acting, or whatever, just give me the action, which is sort of why i really want to see Bourne, but the bonus is great story and acting and such.

Wait wait wait. Let me make sure I understand this. Did you just say you prefer seeing violence onscreen than sex?

The reviewers are feasting on this movie like a zombie on fresh meat:

One of my friends wants to see Catwoman only because he'll be able to see Sharon Stone get kicked in the teeth.

As far as Catwoman, I don't give a damn about the story...just seeing Halle Berry kick some ass in that suit will do just fine, thanks. :D I think she's a great actress, although I would not have picked her for the role of Storm in XMen, but she did a good job in it. |

I saw Bourne Supremacy tonight... or should I say that I _tried_ to see it. The storyline was fine, but the cinematography was absolutely hideous -- it was if the entire film was made with handheld cameras, carried by epileptics, standing on the bed of a moving pickup truck on a bumpy road, during an earthquake. There was one fight sequence in particular that was an utterly disjointed mess, but the entire film was jittery; it _had_ to be intentional, but I haven't the slightest idea why.
I went to Hersheypark two weeks ago, rode coasters and other rides that'd pull your teeth out, and I was perfectly fine. THIS movie, on the other hand, literally gave me motion sickness; the shakiness was _that_ bad. I had to go out for a breather after about an hour, came back, then left entirely. Pity, as the book was good. |
I honestly disagree, I thought that however "motion-sickness" inducing the hand-held scenes were, I think that the reason for including them is to make the feel of the commotion and chaos as real as possible. I know exactly the fight scene you are talking about, as I heard grunts and smashes and such and I saw blood on both faces, but at the time of the fight i had NO idea who as getting knocked. My review of the movie is "This movie redefines the meaning of intensity." While parts of the story were a bit confusing, I got most of the story and action scenes were great. I would give it a B+

Disagree if you like. EVERY scene was filmed on a handheld, even the quiet ones.

It was blurry, and quick, and difficult to watch at times. They should have done a better job with the great story they had. The chase scene was really good though if you can get past the shakey cameras. |
"Catwoman should never have been made."
I have taken deep offence at this and retired to a bottomless pitt. |
Man, I'd watch that catwoman movie even if the speakers in the theater were dead.
|
Yes, she's learnt a lot from me ;)

Pity about Bourne Supremacy, the first one was a great romp and I was looking forward to that.
|
Jaguar, do not be discouraged from seeing Bourne. Its still a great movie other than the shakey camera.
|
I heard that Sharon Stone said a line in Catwoman that accurately describes the movie: "You're just a silly girl in a stupid costume." Even if it was the only movie at the theatre, you couldn't pay me enough money to go and see it. I will not see it in the theatre, video, payper view or cable. Because of the trailers and the reviews, I'm gonna have to shoot this one down.
