Gmail invites
 

I have three invites left for Gmail, the Google web email service.

I think it's pretty good, and I trust Google more than I trust Yahoo. Also, I think Google will have more clever spam filters. So, if you think you'd like a Gmail account, pm me with the email address I should send the invitation to.

My Gmail invites are spoken for.

I've been using it for awhile now, and I still haven't gotten any invites to give to people. :(

well, they give them out entirely based on merit, with no consideration for equality or preference.

I got an invite elsewhere and registered "yourmothershakeschickensinhell", but for some reason I can only access my account via Mozilla. On my home machine (98SE, IE6) and on my old work machine, I get "You do not have ActiveX enabled" even when I do and when I've (temporarily) flattened the security settings; on my new work machine, I get to the login page, see "Loading," then get a blank page with a "You do not have Javascript enabled" message in the source.

The real question is why are you using IE?

When you use IE, god kills a chicken and a webdev cries.

What kind of merit? The number of emails you've gotten? The number you've sent? The average number per day?

Your political views, of course.

That can't be it, or they'd have offered me a high paying job with huge stock options just before they went public the other day.

I have four more Gmail invites. They ask me for your first name, last name and email address. PM me with these if you want an invite.

I'd do it if they didn't require the real name. My usual name probably wouldn't get by the person setting up the accounts.

I've been using lumberjim for longer than that..... since at least September of 03.... I think I came up with it when I registered for the first MMORPG Star Wars Battlefront On the new computer I bought When we moved to Elverson in 9/03.

Where the phuck is Elverstun? What is the prize for these accounts? I better not get the prize for Christmas.

I got my Gmail account from this thread back in the day. Thanks for that, UT!

I was able to turn around and get good accounts for many in my family. Even my toddler daughter at the time. By the time I thought to get an account for my son, all the good variations of his real name were taken.

It is nice to have an account that matches my name.

There is a certain amount of cred you get if you have that going on.

Especially if your name is a semi common one.
I have @jimhelm on twitter, cuz I got in early. I don't really look at it or tweet, though. Meh.
