Gone Country!

Many of you will be delighted to hear that I will be absent from the board for a while (then again, many of you may be indifferent). Anyhow, I just wanted to let you know that any reports of my demise may be premature. I have to go back to Colorado's Western slope (aka God's country) to pick up some important papers I left over there. Since I'm already going to have to use the gas money to get out there, I figure I'll hang around in some of my favorate places in Western Colorado/Eastern Utah for a while. I'll be accompanied by my favorate side-kick, Mike the Musician who has little tolerance for my I-Net addiction, so I doubt if I'll be stopping at any public libraries to check in. We'll probably leave sometime Sunday. We gone!:)

marichiko 06-12-2004 03:59 PM

Probably in a week or so. Thanks, Jag. Keep up the good fight while I'm gone!;)

Since we'll be camping, I imagine I'll sleep facing the stars (doors of a sort!). I'll take lots of pictures, thanks!:)

No doubt SM could fill you in on all the gory details.;)
Mike the Musician is a classical musician. He plays classical and Spanish guitar. So, I think he's somewhat less slimely than other members of his species. Plus, he's great to have sitting around a campfire. My very own live entertainment, and he's really extraordinary. The things that guy can do with a Bach Lute Suite! But I digress and I really need to go pack!

you got it. there is nothing like sitting around a campfire listening to someone play the guitar WELL. my dad can pick the SHIT out of his Martin. Sounds like 2 people playing. His thumb goes one way, with the pick, and his fingers are foolin around in the high notes as he picks with his fingernails. melodies over bass. too goddamn bad he likes country music and oldies. I always make him play Benny Hill. that rocks. He does a mean .......darn.......what's the most popular Willie Nelson song? ....and don't say that goddamn taco bell commercial, either.

anyway, it sounds like a shit load of fun.

I was at a concert recently where the singer mentioned she was divorced - from a bass player. And the first thing that came to mind was there are two sub-classes of musicians who should be barred from marriage (besides Michael Jackson) - bass players and drummers.

Have fun, Mari...be safe.

I feel perfectly fine.

I am generally a nice person...moreso than most folks. Ask around.

Actually, 'twas a self-deprecating joke as I play a bit myself (although my skills are certainly not on a par with SM, who gets paid to play with people we've actually heard of).

You guys are all so funny! (I loved the little pig cartoon, Bruce!). I'm gonna go into cellar withdrawals (however you spell that word). But then again, Chaco Canyon on the summer solstice? Wow! It'll be a blast. Vamanos! See you all soon!

elSicomoro 06-13-2004 01:31 AM

Summer solstice...I'll be with wolf and other Cellarites getting shitfaced out in the woods.

Crimson Ghost 06-16-2004 01:34 AM

Sounds like a blast, sycamore.

Usually, I celebrate by sitting in the front window, holding a loaded shotgun, getting drunk, and watching porn.

Man, the cops hate that.....................................

One of my lifelong aspirations is to see the Sun Dagger on the Solstice.
