The Official Cellar T-Shirt Sale

Cellar T-Shirt Sale

These professionally done, quality T-Shirts are a bold fashion statement in any setting. The instantly recognizable monkey typists identify you as a Man or Woman of Letters; one of superior taste and charm. Don’t be surprised if strangers ask you for advice when you wear it. These are the first edition T-shirts with the classic “old school” logo on the front, and the speculative toad on the back. An instant collectors item, you may want to buy two or three. And priced so reasonably, that they won’t break the bank. You will also be donating a portion to the cellar and doing your part to ensure its longevity. There are a variety of styles to choose from, in sizes from XS to 4XL. Please check your style for color and size availability.

Using the order form below, copy and paste, and email or PM the order to lumberjim . Use the paypal link on the bottom of the front page to make your payment directly to the cellar. We will not order until all orders are paid. When we reach the order date, all unpaid orders will be void.

We will close ordering when it seems that all interested parties have placed their orders. You will be notified of the sale ending several days in advance..... repetitively, in increasingly annoying car commercial kinds of ways.

The first order has been recieved. Elspode. The first official future owner of the first official cellar Tshirt. What an honor.

Toad,
if I may humbly suggest that you make this thread stick for a short time so that people can find it quickly, and do not miss this unique opportunity to be part of future history.

Pi 03-25-2004 12:06 AM

Possible to send it abroad? How much more to pay?

Elspode 03-25-2004 12:08 AM

Unless it is like $100 bucks or something, I would be honored to pay for the cost of reasonable shipping to Pi. I think he's earned it.

Undertoad 03-25-2004 12:43 AM

"I heartily endorse this product or service."

Thanks to LJ fer gettin' it all together!

The whole thing rocks the house and of course I'll be getting a ton of these myself.

Additional funds may go to Cellar promotion via Google adwords and/or other vehicles.

wolf 03-25-2004 12:51 AM

I reserve the right to increase the size of my already large order before closing as I have a terrible time choosing colors ...

lumberjim 03-25-2004 12:53 AM

no sweat. remember, christmas is right around the corner.

Pi 03-25-2004 12:20 PM

Thanks Elspode...
But I think a can manage these few exta bucks. Luckyly the dollar is quite cheap at the moment :)

BrianR 03-25-2004 12:55 PM

Lemmee talk with Dagney and we'll put in one order for both of us.

jaguar 03-25-2004 01:24 PM

Can we get a ballpark on shipping across the atlantic?

lumberjim 03-25-2004 02:15 PM

$10

jaguar 03-25-2004 02:39 PM

Bah, count me in =)

Silent 03-25-2004 04:41 PM

Would it be possible (where I'm in Canada) to mark on the green customs slip you get at the P.O.:

A) Gift

B) Value under $20CAD.

???

Customs can _really_ ding us here. A buddy of mine order $30 worth of t-shirts from a place in Jersey and got dinged with $75 worth of customs fees.

lumberjim 03-25-2004 04:55 PM

what, you don;t like the customs nazis pawing through your things?

yes, I am wise in the ways of shipping to canada. jinx had me shipping gifts to her canadian friends a lot last year. I'm familiar with the forms, and the amount of tape needed to keep them from snooping.

I've volunteered to assist UT in packaging and shipping these, and that's just how I planned to mark them.

I am unfamiliar with shipping to switz, belgium, scotland, aus, etc, so any pointers from those of you in those countries would be apprec.

Silent 03-25-2004 05:04 PM

Merci!

You can go onto the USPS website and see what forms are needed and what restrictions certain countries have.

http://ircalc.usps.gov/

You go there and enter envelope, package, post card, etc. Then select the country. If you just want to know the restrictions and custom forms needed for each country then just enter any weight. The next page will have at the bottom, links for Prohibitions, Restrictions, and Custom Forms. Click any of those to get the info you need.

Europe is generally not a problem, but if you end up mailing to some smaller country in like south america or somthing like that you might want to put something like "feminine hygiene products" on the part where you say what the box contains. Sometimes when mailing to a smaller or poorer country the people in the customs office or in the country's postal system will open the box if it looks like it might be something good, and take whatever is inside it.

Question

Did I miss when the deadline for orders and payment is?

I can order four shirts now, but I won't have any cash until next week.

Just for the record, retirement sucks!

Brian

lumberjim 03-25-2004 09:40 PM

no hard deadline, but i'm figuring that i'd like to have the order cashed up and sent to the printer no later than 4/15. there will be warnings if it's earlier than that, though.

dar512 03-25-2004 09:55 PM

I'd like to point out how fine the final design looks. Two thumbs way way up for the folks who contributed.

Just as it comes, please, no ice, no ketchup ...:3eye:

lumberjim 03-26-2004 10:29 PM

Just a quick update.

At this point we have orders for 67 shirts. The largest single one party order is 10, followed closely by and order for 8 shirts. Still plenty of time to beat those records.

I'd like to thank Zippy for sparking this idea, as well as everyone that contributed in the design process. I think we should make this the first annual tshirt. I could slip a small 2004 into the design somewhere, and we could do this every year in the spring.

tell you what, I'll give you about a year to think about it.

zippyt 03-27-2004 02:19 AM

I'd like to thank Zippy for sparking this idea,

Thank you ,,,,, Thank YOU !!!!
All props go to HP and his Original comic Idea !!!!!

lumberjim 04-03-2004 01:23 PM

OK, PEOPLE.

We'll start wrapping up ordering in about a week. If you've been procrastinating, let's get the lead out!

I think this is a great idea - we could generate a some real profit over the years for UT.

maybe we could do a line of mouse pads, bumper stickers, members only rings (that open secret dungeon doors) and temporary tatoos!!

Was it the same cat?

Sun_Sparkz 04-05-2004 05:50 PM

Same Cat Different Meow!

novice 04-06-2004 02:23 AM

Much like having your birthday on Xmas eve?

Sun_Sparkz 04-06-2004 05:58 PM

Si!!

shit from shoe polish!

but sometimes its a good thing, quite often i get a LARGER combined present :)

or sometimes i get one small combined present. :(

wolf 04-07-2004 01:04 AM

I won't accept the "larger combined present" scam.

My sister, whose birthday is in June, rather than two weeks post xmas gets two presents, and so should I, dammit.

(one of my friends has a 12/23 BD, her daughter's is 12/24. Two events, two presents. No questions.)

lumberjim 04-07-2004 05:21 PM

3 days, people!

let's go! you know who you are! they're educational and fun!

lumberjim 04-10-2004 07:23 AM

Ok!

Today is the last day for ordering!

You have until the 15th to get your money to UT. Unpaid orders at that time will be dropped.

richlevy 04-10-2004 09:04 AM

When will the shirts be ready?

lumberjim 04-10-2004 10:08 AM

should be the first week in May if all goes well, rich

wolf 04-10-2004 10:19 AM

Is there any kind of paypal surcharge we have to include over the total cost for shirts and shipping?

lumberjim 04-10-2004 10:35 AM

no. shipping includes those charges.

wolf 04-10-2004 11:05 AM

Thank you. Paid.

Griff 04-10-2004 12:51 PM

Time to get off my butt.

blue 04-10-2004 05:24 PM

Shit, save me one! I have even read the thread yet, but don't want to miss out on the deadline. Just pencil me in for whatever the cheapest tshirt is, and I'll get the order in ASAP.

Lady Sidhe 04-19-2004 10:13 PM

My M.O. has been sent.

jaguar 04-28-2004 12:10 PM

What's the ETA looking like?

lumberjim 04-29-2004 07:16 PM

sorry fo rthe delay in the reply, jag.

i spoke to george tonight, and the shirts are there, but the email i sent of the artwork never came through. He's picking up the disc with the images tomorrow, and says 2-3 weeks from there.

we lost a week waiting for a couple people to pay, and now it's the busy season....but never fear, you'll have them in time for the hot weather!

blue 04-30-2004 12:44 PM

UT, did you get my unorthodox/unwise payment?

Undertoad 04-30-2004 02:00 PM

Yup, everyone on the list is paid up.

BrianR 04-30-2004 04:29 PM

Are you going to deposit my check? I hat it when I have a floater out there...I'm always afraid I'm going to spend the money and cause it to bounce.

I'm a terrible checking account person.

Brian

Undertoad 04-30-2004 06:03 PM

I usually hold checks until they're moldy, but I'l take care of that this weekend.

Griffs rule fer livin' # 2301 - Never use the USPS to ship pot or gold.

Lady Sidhe 05-02-2004 05:19 PM

UT, just making sure my M.O. came through....

Yo Jimbo , whats the ETA on the shirts ????

lumberjim 05-08-2004 12:05 PM

i spoke to him yesterday.

i'm guessing 2 weeks? he said he'd let me know when the artwork comes out of his art dept.......whatever that means.

i'll update this thread with progress.

It means his girlfriend isn't speaking to him.:D

OnyxCougar 05-19-2004 12:30 PM

**trying hard to be patient with the shirts**

perth 05-19-2004 12:37 PM

Is it too late to get in on this?

lumberjim 05-19-2004 12:44 PM

**me too**

i spoke to george on thursday.....unfortunately it is his busiest time of year, and things are taking much longer than expected. I had hoped to have the order to him by the 15th of april, but there were a couple of delays. he did not get the artwork until the end of april. this is the time of year when the hotels and resorts all order their summer uniforms, which is the bulk of his business......he is doing this on the cheap for us, so i don;t want to lean on him at all. as i said, i will keep you posted with progress.....

perth, UT ordered some extras for slackers like you and sycamore. pm him once i announce that we have them, and we;ll get you in on it.....btw, all of the extras are black short sleeve tees.

The sycamore is not a slacker. He has simply chosen not to participate in this particular activity.
