Personal Thanks

At the risk of abusing the system, I'm going to steal some of Tony's space, to post a thank you to PA State Trooper Rebecca Ladd of the Media Post.
She is the trooper that saved my sorry old butt last Friday. More importantly she saved Cody and warmed a lot of peoples hearts because Cody is a registered Therapy Dog.
Yeah guys, she's young, buff and beautiful. :) But more than that she's the consummate professional with human warmth and compassion. Certainly a tribute to her profession and to women.

elSicomoro 02-16-2004 06:59 PM

Did you get her phone number? Did you invite her over to see the dodads?

xoxoxoBruce 02-16-2004 08:51 PM

Like I said, young, buff and beautiful. Why would she even consider giving her number to a troll like me....or you.:p

OnyxCougar 02-16-2004 09:34 PM

Because if she has half a brain, she'd realize you're more than a troll, you big goombah.

elSicomoro 02-16-2004 09:35 PM

I don't need her number...I already have a beautiful young woman that I love very dearly. I can live without the buff part.

Having said that, why wouldn't she want to give her number to me? I have so much charm, I reek of it.

wolf 02-16-2004 09:52 PM

Oh, is that what that is? Your manly aura??

elSicomoro 02-16-2004 09:57 PM

Yeah...kinda like pheromones...

lumberjim 02-17-2004 01:19 AM

pheremones......pheremones........is that a fancy word for Yack crap?

:p

staceyv 02-17-2004 06:03 AM

let me splain it to you, k?

syc mentions reeking......wolf refers to the "smell" in her reply

then syc says...yeah like pheremones......( i know what pheremones are) i PRETEND not to recognize the word, so that i can guess at it's meaning based on syc's smell......which i then liken to yack crap......

get it now?

OnyxCougar 02-17-2004 08:53 AM

Ah, the patients of car salesmen!

novice 02-17-2004 08:57 AM

Is that Yack crap as in yackety-yak implying talking shit or were you referring to the sturdy beast one might find on an Himalayan yak trail ?

an intentional pun? or misspelling? ience

yack, as in nasty hairy wet slogging thru the rice paddy slobbering beast

perth 02-17-2004 09:32 AM

Oh, a YAK! :)

Which, I think, is what Novice was getting at.

lumberjim 02-17-2004 09:36 AM

Naw, that's a Water Buffalo. Yak's live in higher, colder, dryer climes. They make felt from the fur, cheese and booze from the milk, and use them as pack animals. To valuable to eat unless it's necessary.....and they reek.:whofart:

I'd like to add my thanks here....to Trooper Ladd for saving Bruce, and all the other Pa State Police officers that I've run into in my travels through the state. They are truly pros.

Pa. State Cops Rock ( if you arent really up to no good )!

New York State cops? Well...........

Griff 02-17-2004 04:40 PM

NYS Police do pull some crap.

I've had dealings with cops from all over the country, both State and local. The PA State Police are the absolute best I've ever dealt with. Always professional without being intimidating. We don't have a local force here and the State Police cover this area. Unlike some of the locals in the county the State Police don't bother anyone that's not asking for it. They don't harass people just because they can. Probably they only time I've ever seen them screw up is saving my sorry butt.:haha:

Intentional pun. Hence the edit.

I got a letter from Trooper Ladd's boss, Lt. John W. Laufer, acknowledging my letter of praise for Trooper Ladd. He said all too often the State Police only hear from the public when they have a bitch and rarely hear anything when they do good. That's human nature I guess.
I suppose it's a good thing we aren't allowed to tip them.:haha:

xoxoxoBruce 02-24-2004 07:36 PM

End of story-not safe for humans.
For a couple days Cody (the loyal dog in my misadventure) did real well. But as time went by he deteriorated quickly. 13 years old and that kind of harrowing experience took it's toll. 9 days and 4 trips to the vet later, we buried him tonight. RIP Cody.

mrnoodle 02-24-2004 08:29 PM

Sleep well Cody. My condolences, Bruce.

Beestie 02-24-2004 08:49 PM

Sorry to hear that, bud. Dogs are such good companions. Hope your shoulder is coming along. When it rains, it seems to pour. :(

Elspode 02-24-2004 10:46 PM

Sorry to hear that, Bruce. His last days were largely due to your concern and efforts, and no small measure of sacrifice on your part.

Well done, once again, my friend.

wolf 02-25-2004 12:50 AM

May he chase many slow rabbit in the doggie-afterlife.

You're feeling okay, right Bruce? you didn't fall into a crevice of toxic waste or anything, didja?

xoxoxoBruce 02-26-2004 07:02 AM

Thanks all:joylove:
There's a couple of dogs I miss more than most of the people that have pasted.
