M.V.P.

Most Valuable Post-er

WARNING: POPULARITY CONTEST AHEAD

Nominate the person who's posts you tend to read first, regardless of topic.

If this is not met with gunfire etc, maybe we'll do a poll and have playoffs or something fun like that with our nominees.

Should we exclude Undertoad because he is a shoe in?

....this is a dummy account.....but it's not slang.

Sycamore is my new favourite poster.

elSicomoro 02-03-2004 06:33 PM

I wasn't before? :)

Griff 02-03-2004 06:37 PM

Maybe someone who knows the possesive of dummy should start a thread.

lumberjim 02-03-2004 06:48 PM

rho possesses a dummy ;)

elSicomoro 02-03-2004 06:56 PM

Who pulled your chain, car jockey?

lumberjim 02-03-2004 06:58 PM

just funnin' ya, sweetie pie!

ps...i always read YOUR posts first!
-or are we refusing to participate in this obnoxiousity?

is that a word? where's dave?

perth 02-03-2004 07:30 PM

We don't need Dave to confirm that "obnoxiousity" is not a word. :)

elSicomoro 02-03-2004 09:18 PM

I don't really have a favorite poster per se, though there are some folks I like more than others.

xoxoxoBruce 02-03-2004 09:31 PM

Welcome to the Cellar anonymous, now go the fuck away.

elSicomoro 02-03-2004 09:38 PM

Quit talking to yourself, Bruce...what did I tell you about that?

Well, its obviously not Jim, either. :)

novice 02-03-2004 11:57 PM

I'm voting for trillian, followed very closely by Wolf

lumberjim 02-04-2004 12:07 AM

I can;t do it. not and be serious about it.....I always read my own posts first, cuz the thing bounces right back to it after i hit the little "submit" button down at the bottom.

wolf 02-04-2004 12:23 AM

Jimbo, fess up. You're anonymous.

Only you would decide "whose" is spelled "who's", even if for once you figured out the relative keyboard positions of the ' and the ;

I don't actually read any one poster first. I go to the New Posts search page and read sequentially.

Who do I enjoy reading? Easier to elaborate on who I don't.

It's not a short list, but should be easy enough to figure out.

lumberjim 02-04-2004 09:08 AM

me? MY dummy account is The CIA..(purely for Radar's benefit)...i was sure it was sycamore. or toad....but it could have been me.......or was it you? i bet it was HP......

possibly perth.....

i think i read threads that i'm involved in first, and depending on if i'm arguing or making fun of someone, i'll read theirs first....so it always changes...

if the question was posed as whose posts do you typically enjoy, i'd have to vote for several people...and it usually depends on my mood at the time

when my attention span is short, i gotta give the nod to bruce or , if i feel like reading a little deeper, elspode, toad, and hot pastrami....

if i feel like arguing, i go looking for tw

kerosene 02-04-2004 09:17 AM

It ain't perth. and it ain't me either. I think it is Sidhe.

perth 02-04-2004 09:20 AM

I promise it's not me.

Maybe Wolf. :)

wolf 02-04-2004 09:42 AM

Nope. Not me. I've never needed a secret cellar identity. I'll say any stupid fucking thing under my own name and take responsibility for it.

Although I occasionally think it would be fun to have the anonymous board back, largely because it was silly. (in the 'old days' the anonymous board stripped the user name from all the posts, so you could say anything you wanted. Mostly people told dirty jokes or had quippy exchanges. But we do all that hear without a cone of silence, so maybe it's need has passed ...)

lumberjim 02-04-2004 10:07 AM

i think it's juju

anonymous 02-04-2004 10:07 AM

feel free to use this account

login: anonymous
password: password

just don't steal it

toad, if this is too insecure, just delete this post, and the account as i don't need it

The post or the entire thread?

Sorry, couldn't resist! ;)

And "toad?" If I have one more bite of red herring, I'm gonna turn into a red herring!

I doubt it. Juju really isn't the type to set up a fake account, let alone post something so insidiously stupid.

Undertoad 02-04-2004 10:25 AM

Back in the day we had an anonymous board where anyone could post anything. At first I set it up so that it would log who said what and I could tell who said what if I looked through the log. After a while I just dropped the log feature so that I couldn't possibly know who posted stuff. It was more fun that way.

FileNotFound 02-04-2004 10:40 AM

Explain this:

Why does Anon have 2 posts but I can only find one?

lumberjim 02-04-2004 10:45 AM

cuz yer dumb

he/she started this thread (1) and then there's the one right up there^

anonymous 02-04-2004 10:47 AM

ok.....NOW, I'm anonymous...

ooo can you tell who i am?

should i insult all the people i dislike?

should i praise my REAL name?

what fun

Ljim for president!!!

Pi 02-04-2004 11:00 AM

What would happen if two people try to log-in as anonymous at the same time?

lumberjim 02-04-2004 11:04 AM

what would happen if we ALL did?

Undertoad 02-04-2004 11:06 AM

There are only three rules to follow here:

1. Don't use the system to break the law.
2. Don't try to break the system.
3. Don't be 'intolerably irritating'.

lumberjim 02-04-2004 11:34 AM

i think what Pi was asking is will the system allow the same login to be live on two seperate IP's?

FileNotFound 02-04-2004 11:37 AM

I am a retard....sorry.

Undertoad 02-04-2004 11:47 AM

Actually it would allow that so it is not a violation, I'm just against people trying all kinds of stuff out to see if it will "work".

Pi 02-04-2004 11:53 AM

That's why I asked and not tried out...

vsp 02-04-2004 12:38 PM

As for me, I always go back and read April's posts first before I move on to the new ones. Doesn't everyone?

FileNotFound 02-04-2004 01:00 PM

Well thats not quite fair.

With April it was more like "Oh lord, not again? What is it this time..." not "Oh wow, how fortuante that the great April has chosen to voice her valued opinion on this topic. We'd have been in much confusion without her wise and sound guidance. All praise April."

xoxoxoBruce 02-04-2004 09:37 PM

I hope Juju reads this thread.:haha: :haha:
