We went home.
It was brilliant.

xoxoxoBruce 08-30-2018 07:29 AM

What kind of plane?

Griff 08-30-2018 07:46 AM

Beechcraft 1900. That little thing jumps right off the runway. I could read the altimeter from my seat. :)

bbro 08-30-2018 12:07 PM

What was it like a day trip or something? The non plane picture is amazing. Guess I've got to go to the rockies!!

Hung out with the spirit animal a fair amount. These are really interesting creatures.

xoxoxoBruce 09-06-2018 10:05 AM

Nevermore. :haha:

I worked with a guy who had rescued a baby Crow and made a tape of it's distress calls.
He would put the tape in his car player and turn it up loud with the doors open, then walk away.
Within minutes several crows would gather around his car.

The splendid lake is quintessential Canadian Rockies.
It makes me think of this IOTD from a few days ago

Sounds like a great way to get bird crap on the upholstery.

So beautiful.

Thanks Griff.

Here in the East, we hear about the wildfires but forget about them. It's amazing how much fire there is these days and how far the smoke travels.

xoxoxoBruce 09-07-2018 01:02 PM

I remember driving most of a day through a burn along the Alcan Highway. :(

Griff 09-07-2018 03:10 PM

There were days our throats were raw from smoke after hiking.

bbro 09-07-2018 03:18 PM

Gorgeous!

But it was still worth it, right? ;)

One of the unique things about the CDN mountains is you stand there looking a calendar worthy scene, and no matter which way you turn or move it's just one beautiful picture after another.

Having been there a few times I can say your pictures weren't staged at a couple tourist hot spots, everywhere you turn for hundreds of miles is gorgeous.
That hot babe doesn't hurt either. :thumb::thumb:
