I'm Going Under the Knife Again

This Friday I'm having a new heart valve put in. They are going in thru my thigh to do it, it's called TAVR and here is a video.

Good luck!

Don't sneeze.

Flint 03-07-2017 04:10 PM

Good luck!

Don't fart.

xoxoxoBruce 03-07-2017 05:33 PM

I gather that valve is like a check-valve, it's main job is to keep the blood from flowing back into the heart between beats. So it isn't a question of whether it will work if they can get it in place. That's much better than worrying about rejection and shit. You know all the nurses will be peaking at your winkie.

Good luck with your heart and your winkie, too! (I'm discovering Bruce has such a dirty mind. I kind of like it.) ;)

Nay nay, In this case I've know several OR nurses and an anesthetist, who told me they all do it.

Fargon, Ima have a drink to good luck tonight, and think of you as it goes down oh so smooth.

The docs are now looking at Popdigr's valves for an explanation for his passing out, so, Ima follow this with a little more interest than I normally might.

BTW, the docs think his pain after the fall may be some kind of weird whiplash. It's still bothering him pretty bad. Popdigr can't tolerate opiate pain meds, either.:thepain:

Good Luck sir.

glatt 03-10-2017 11:17 AM

Thinking about you today. Hope it's going well.

fargon 03-10-2017 03:54 PM

Surgery went very well. Resting and in for observation overnight. Everyone is optimistic that I can go home tomorrow. Thanks to all for the well wishes!

yeah, but one that will hopefully heal quick.

xoxoxoBruce 03-10-2017 08:08 PM

Let the cat lick it to speed up the healing. :thumb:

Griff 03-11-2017 07:31 AM

meyow!

xoxoxoBruce 03-11-2017 11:22 AM

Most people don't know that meyow is actually in cat language Me Ow, or a request to kiss my boo boo.
Would I lie to you, my oldest and dearest friend... if it didn't involve sex or money. :headshake

Gravdigr 03-11-2017 04:02 PM

Glad to hear things went well Fargon, ol' boy!:cheerldr:

Don't worry 'bout that extra hole...give ya something else to play with.;)

fargon 03-12-2017 02:30 PM

I'm home now, and everything is good. Thank You all for your thoughts and prayers. I can't pick up anything over 10 Pounds, and I can't go up stairs. But other than that I'm fine. We just found out that one of Keryx's friends was right across the hall and she didn't know. The Cats suddenly want me to pick them up, so they wait 'till I go to bed and they're all over me. The cats are both over 10 pounds, Bootsy loves it because I don't move him out of my seat. I'm rambling because I'm not stoned.

Now i have cardiac therapy, and a whole list of new pills to deal with.

xoxoxoBruce 03-13-2017 10:20 PM

I suspect you just have to take them, and someone else (who shall go unnamed) living in the house will have to deal with them. :p:

It is let a dog lick it. A cats tongue can lick meat off a bone.
I haven't been around for awhile and missed your adventure. Glad to see you doing better.
