You regularly post with a strong position on hot-button issues. I'm not certain why you would be surprised to get pushback occasionally. Don't mistake a critique of your post with an attack on you.

As proprietor, no matter how much you try to avoid it, there's going to be some residual deference.

Plus, you tend towards "a pox on both their houses" opinions, which aren't quite as fun to pick apart as strident ones. And, when you do pick a side, I usually agree.

There were a couple conversations going on the god thread. It was interesting but then it got insulting... Grav actually wrote a pretty good defense of his thinking. <shrug>

Not sure what happened, but I do know Grav is a favorite around here. He's witty and fun and has some opinions. Maybe he's also a bit sensitive. Gee, I can't relate to that. ;)

Gravdigr tried to call out Pico and ME for being elitist or arrogant or something, and then was insulted when I pointed out that Pico and ME wasn't saying what Gravdigr thought.

And it sounds like you may be reading my use of "immature brains" the same way Gravdigr read Pico and ME's. For clarity's sake, I would like to mention that I was using the phrase in the same way that Clodfobble was - a brain not capable of understanding everything in the universe, in other words a human brain.

Where did it get insulting? I kinda thought that Grav telling me I was going to hell was somewhat insulting. But that is just his belief, so I wasn't didn't take it personally. But somehow expressing my belief is not only insulting, but militant?

I didn't read anything Pico said as insulting. Grav (hellfire) and HM (immature brains) appeared deliberately insulting to each others worldview but pretty low level compared to Old Time Cellar. I thought the thread was going to actually provide more light than fire.

I think his problem is an undeserved inferiority complex.
I know I marvel at the off the wall shit many of you people rattle off with regularity, and it's sometimes a little intimidating. Some because of your profession, a hobby, or life experiences, and one that makes shit up.

That coupled with a lifetime of hearing/seeing the entertainment industry belittle the inbred, backwoods, red neck, hillbilly stereotype, and inferring anyone from Appalachian/Ozarks states is one of them. It's not hard to see why people living there would feel the whole world thinks that way... but we don't.

Yeah, we know better, we've got members like Buster, Zippyt, from "redneck" territory, and they sure aren't stupid. Neither is Gravdgr. He's a little touchy about anything he's not sure isn't a backhanded insult, but smart, funny, modest(except about poker winnings), interested in all sorts of stuff, and a genuinely nice guy.

He declined, but very politely, because he doesn't like to give out personal information. I totally respect that.

And no, we don't share a world view and yes, sometimes I've found things he's posted quite offensive. But no doubt he's retched at some of my views, and would do more so if I expressed them more forcibly. But he makes me laugh. And as Infi says, he has a cat and a scooter. Now that's my idea of a good Dwellar.

Grav, FWIW, Dwellars are taking the time and making the effort to respond to your posts. If people don't care, they just don't interact.
