Good Led Zeppelin Covers
Is there such a thing? Post them here if you can find one. I'd like to hear it.
I've heard two that I can think of that don't suck. Tool does an acceptable version of No Quarter, and 4NonBlondes does Misty Mountain Hop. I'm listening to an entire album of LZ covers and every song is worse than the original. What other band can claim that? |
Good Led Zeppelin Riffs. And others, :shred:
Heard on the news moment's ago, thought of you LJ. Enjoy. |
ok,
That's as it should be. And there are a couple other good ones in that top 10... but what the heyell is Down Down, by the status quo doing anywhere near this list? and the Smiths? 2 really out of place entries, if you ask me. oohhhh.... a link from that article. click this |
I'm not sure if you'd call it 'good', but, it is sexy.
What's sexier than a girl in an accordion? |
Two girls one accordian?
|
I like this one
Vocals are not so great but Joe Bonamassa's guitar is sweet |
I thought you were talking about album covers.
I shall retreat. |

Just... Wow. That is fucking awesome. |
Not one smile the whole time they were performing. Makes me think the teacher is a dick. They all look tense and worried the whole time.
Bad cover. Try again |
haters gonna hate.
Jimmy Page likes it: "Too good not to share," read the post. "Have a rocking weekend!", but what would he know? |
No smiles, but three of the kids are enjoying themselves.
Girl in turquoise on far right keeps swaying to the music. Drummer girl is also swaying a lot as she drums. Gray shirt boy in center in the back is a head-bopper. Teacher forced the girls in the way back to do an arm thing, but it's wooden and forced. They don't count. But no smiles. Thinking about my kids' bands, the smiles tend to come after songs are over. And after solos are over. |
It is well done... and maybe I'm just seeing concentration....
but it's xylophones. and it's kids. it's not a "good cover" it's cool.... the kids do a great job.... not hating... just if you didn't see it...only heard it... would it still be good? |

sorry, couldn't help it. |
I'm not really surprised.
I'm really not. |
It's a cool thing. After reading the article, I was probably wrong about the teacher.
Thanks for sharing it, diggr. |
From our perspective, adding orchestral instrumentation to our previous understanding of Zeppelin is a mind-boggling change and hearing any rendition of it reminds us of all that. To them, they have probably heard no other Zeppelin before so this is just "Greensleeves" level of difficulty, which is to say, well above average for the age. But it will teach them what is good so that when they reach the age where they can start to have discerning taste, it will be a reference point for them.
If I recall correctly, for me, puberty had some weird sort of brain-clarifying connection to oh suddenly this song is good and that one is not, not just because someone else said so, but because I heard it and figured that out and it truly had meaning for me. i could write that sentence way better |
My son has great taste in music. He always has. From like 5. My daughter, not so much. A lot not so much.
Nature or nurture? |
He has an aptitude for appreciating what dad likes. There's something to that. (How old is he currently, again?)
I listened to Carmen when I was 5. Carmen has some great melodies. I also liked the children's record about science. It had some great melodies. I don't think I could rank one above the other. But when you're 5 you like melody. |
I've posted it befor

Spencer is 16.5 17 in August. I'm pretty sure jinx had as much or more to do with his taste as did I. I just remember listening to a mix cd he and jinx made (he picked the songs, jinx did the computer work) for a car ride to Old Forge... It had songs like Nothing Else Matters, and Lighting Crashes.... I wish I still had that disc...

And, here, this is for jim, a great Zeppelin cover: |
I find that to be entirely acceptable. I'd like to own that. where can I procure it?
|
Only 24 bucks at American Tee Shirt. But it's currently not available.
https://www.americanteeshirt.com/product/view/LED37049 I can't find one of those on Amazon either, but here is a similar tapestry: http://www.amazon.com/Led-Zeppelin-C...ppelin+blanket |
