Unrelated question. My wife wants to start up a fantasy league for our family. A small one. Four teams.

Can I join that league with the same NFL account and be in two leagues with two teams, or do I have to create another account? I'm having trouble logging in to that league with my email address.

Nah, I gave up on that a couple years ago. Last year was the first year I really tried, had a good team and checked my stats each week and made the right choice for my starters like 90% of the time... and I still came in 10th. When I won, it was by huge margins, and when I lost, I usually still had a very good score and just got unlucky that my opponent scored a couple points higher. (My season was like a demonstration of the flaws inherent in the electoral college system!) I actually looked at it and if I just rearranged who I'd gone up against each week, I would have been in like the top three.

Anyway... all of this is to say that I'm putting effort into it again this year, and you fuckers are going down.

My memory of last season was that I did very poorly all season long, but when I went back in and looked at the final standings, I was towards the top. So yeah, the system doesn't always reward the best.

There's certainly an amount of luck involved, but it helps to know a little bit about the game and the players. I got lucky that the players I put faith in did the trick from time to time.

I love my win, but have told folks if I were in a really competitive league for money...I wouldn't win, place, or even show.

But it sure makes the season even more fun for me.

I Don't think you have to register if youre returning. Just log in, and go to your team. And if you do nothing, the guru will rank your draft and pick automatically.

I've decided that this year, should I determine that some one is neglecting their team, I will appoint a Co owner.

If you would like to have a Co owner to help you when you can't get to it, or find that you're losing interest in it, please to request same.

UPDATE:

draft pushed back one day to Aug 24th. That's a Sunday, so we should be able to see our teams and grab unsigned free agents Sunday morning. I meant to set it that way, then realized the 23rd meant it would draft at 1 am Sat( late Friday night) and I work Saturday, so that would mess me up.

I didn't think that mattered to anyone else... let me know if it does.

Classic man will take that team... If Shaw will be Co owner. He works a lot of home Eagles games with his son, so he may not be good with last minute adjustments.

Draft is automatic, and you don't have to adjust from the default player rankings if you don't want to.

Hey Classic! I'd be happy to 'help' with your team. Like if you want suggestions or aren't sure how to perform a certain action. Basically, I can help you with just telling you how I've managed my teams in the past (on a wing and a prayer, mostly.)

And if there's a week you can't do anything with your team you can PM me and I can make sure there's no injureds or byes playing with viable members left on the bench. I don't think I'll go so far as to go out and get you new players or anything like that.

I am the sole proprieter of The River Rats, and I like it that way. Win or lose, it's all me. So yeah, yours would be a separate team.

I think the league should vote on this, though. I mean, a certain conflict of interest is implied. I am quite competitive but I will tell you, I NEVER cheat at games, never have because it's always been my belief that a win by cheating isn't a real win. And it doesn't even feel good. In fact, my honest nature would make it feel really badly.

So...everyone...these are the ground rules I've come up with. Feel free to add or subtract or give your opinions on the matter. I'm happy to help, I just don't want to do it if it seems less than kosher to some.

I suggested you, actually. I didn't even think about the conflict of interest. I assume you'll recuse yourself from making any changes when you play each other. And Also that you will do the best for his team as you would your own. Your integrity is above scrutiny, in my opinion. As are most of the rest of you good folks. I can't speak for the two car salesmen I have playing with us this year... ;)... ( that's a slow wink)

I also moved him out of your division so you don't play as often as division rivals would.

Sweet. I've already given him suggestions on the draft. Not players, just how to give preference to certain players that he might find interesting. Also told him about the importance of QBs, especially with that open slot for a second QB that can net you points. You're very kind. This is gonna be a good season! I'm wantin' Manziel. He ain't rated high in FF, being a rookie, but he's on my Mom's favorite team. Will be SO MUCH FUN!

Of course I always want Rivers as my main QB.

Does everyone know how to change their team name and logo?

look at the top for MY TEAM. under that bar will be Edit Settings. That takes you to where you can change the team name ( pre draft only ) and under that grid of team helmets, there is upload custom logo. you have to click on that helmet, and it pops up an upload manager (allow pop ups for this site) The logo recccomeded size is 80x40 pixels.

once you've completed that upload, remember to scroll down and hit Submit!

What do you think of the throw back helmet, Shaw?

I think the RR logo is likely to be confused with the Ruff Riders and I'm filing for a temporary restraining order until this gets resolved by the commissioner. I've got my merchandizing revenue to protect.

Hey, we fantasy owners have to act like the real ones.

I like the throwback helmet, jim, but I don't think I'll wear it. Gotta protect the old choppers. ;)
