What music or band do dwellars remind you of?

Picking on the two that gave me the idea....

Petezataco: Chicago

Momster: Warren Zevon

and a couple obvious ones....

gravdigr: Lynyrd Skynrd

shaw: Alman Brothers

Dana: U2

infinite monkey 02-19-2013 08:04 AM

Allman Brothers? 'Cause one of me slept with Cher?

I would think The Pretenders. ;)

jim: Led Zeppelin

foot: Guns 'N Roses

Zen: Earth Wind and Fire

Trilby: Fleetwood Mac

Adak, tw, Urbane: The Talking Heads

DanaC---more the Smiths or the Cure.

InfiniM---Four Non-Blondes

tw-Leo and the Pharmacists

Jaydaan- the Eagles

monster-Rage at the Machine

Clod-Talking Heads

Gravdigr-that guy who sings about being drunk the day his momma got out of prison

UT-any Superfunk

Crimson Ghost - I'm Rick James Bitch!

wolf-Patsy Cline

glatt- Beatles

footfootfoot-Stones

regular.joe-the New Christy Minstrels

Lola Bunny-the Archies (I'm thinking of Sugar, Sugar here)

Trilby 02-19-2013 10:36 AM

Oh! forgot Sundae!

She'd be hard to pin down----a Waltzing Matilda type with notes of Kasey Chambers.

Lola Bunny could also be Carly Rae Jepson. No offense---she's just really cute.

IF StaceyV were around she'd be Katy Perry.

footfootfoot 02-19-2013 11:37 AM

Guns n roses? WTF?

This is the only GNR song I like:

infinite monkey 02-19-2013 12:21 PM

'Cause of your love of guns and your rosey outlook? I tend to think on these things differently.

infinite monkey 02-19-2013 12:24 PM

I sure don't know how I'm the Allman Brothers. Not a big southern rock fan, here.

Except for the song Southern Cross.

Trilby 02-19-2013 12:42 PM

I thought Southern Cross was CSN&Y?

Yeah, I meant as far as Southern Rock goes. I think of Southern Cross because of the whole Southern thing I guess...but I knew it was CSN&Y.

King of the Road

all of the children; and all of their names'
And every hand out in every town

and evey lock that ain't locked when no ones around

I say...trailers for sale or rent
rooms to let; fifty cents.
No phone no pool no pets;
I ain't got no cigarettes...

DanaC 02-19-2013 01:15 PM

Nah, Grav is Seasick Steve :P

Also, I'd add just a touch of Cyndi Lauper to Fleetwood Mac for Tril.

infinite monkey 02-19-2013 01:22 PM

Can I be a song? I wanna be Angie Baby.

Because she's crazy nutso and the song never made a damn bit of sense to me. Is dude, like, stuck in the radio?

You live your life in the songs you here
On your rock and roll radio
And when a young girl doesn't have any friends
It's a really nice place to go
Folks hoping you'd turn out cool
But they had to take you out of school
You're a little touched you know
Angie baby
Lovers appear in your room each night
As they whirl accross the floor
But they always seem to fade away
When your daddy taps on your door
Angie girl are you alright?
Tell the radio goodnight
All alone once more angie baby

Angie baby
You're a special lady
Living in a world of make believe
Well maybe
Stopping at her house is a neighbour boy
With evil on his mind
Cos he's been peeking in angies room
At the night through the window blind
I see your folks have gone away
Won't you dance with me today
I'll show you how to have a good time
Angie baby
( angie baby ) (angie baby )
When he walks in the room
He feels confused
Like he walked into a play
And the music's so loud
It spins him around
Till his soul has lost it's way
And as she turns the volume down
He's getting smaller with the sound
It seems to pull him off the ground
No more the radio is bound
Never to be found
The headlines read that a boy disapeared
And everyone thinks he died
Except a crazy girl with a secret lover
Who keeps him satisfied
It's so nice to be insane
No one asked you to explain
Radio by your side
Angie baby

Angie baby
You're a special lady
Living in a world of make believe
Well maybe
Well maybe
Well maybe
Well maybe

footfootfoot 02-19-2013 01:39 PM

yes.

infinite monkey 02-19-2013 01:40 PM

How'd he get stuck in a radio?

So, am I Patsy Cline because of her association with Crazy? Other than that, I don't quite get it ... I'm not planning on a tragic early demise, nor have I had repeated automobile accidents.

Or are you implying that I have a kidnapped girl I keep in the basement, to use as a sex slave, and I burn her with a crack pipe?

'Cause I'm good either way...

This 80s theme is amusing to me, as it's the one decade of music I am completely dissociated from. I was raised on classic 70s rock when the actual 80s were happening, and by the time I was able to access contemporary music on my own, we were well into the 90s.

We can be Spinal Tap but I insist we sing Rural Juror:

The Irma Luhrman-Merman murder
Turned the bird's word lurid
The whir and the purr of a twirler girl
She would the world were demurer
The insurer's allure
For valor were pure Kari Wuhrer
One fervid whirl over her turgid error
Rural juror
Rural juror
I will never forget you
Rural juror
I will always be glad I met you
Rural juror

repeat chorus with last line being "I will always be glad you were in my flurm"

Trilby, I'll take that as a compliment, didn't expect to find my name in this mix. I visited to see what all the others were named after. You made me look up the group, I've never heard of them. They are much more funny, way more talented, and have been around a lot longer then me. Other then that I can see it. :)

I'd take that as a compliment too. Now I need to get back to practicing on my banjo. Never can tell when a group of rafters might show up at the old sewage lagoon. ;)
