Looking For Ideas....

I am turning 34 on the 11th of July and for my b-day the mental health program I am in "the FACT Team" is buying me 200 dollars worth of art supplies. Mainly Paints. Dose anyone have any ideas of what I should paint I am thinking tropical shapes. Input Please...

Rhianne 07-10-2012 05:52 PM

You could do my kitchen if you like, it needs a coat.

infinite monkey 07-10-2012 05:55 PM

Paint whatever you feel like painting, jbk. Certainly your artistic self has stuff in mind. I hope you post it here, whatever it is.

I like tropicals. Greens, yellows, blues? :)

JBKlyde 07-10-2012 06:14 PM

well what i paint will ultimately be my choice... i just want to know you'd like 2 see...

DanaC 07-10-2012 06:18 PM

i like the abstract paintings you've posted.

JBKlyde 07-10-2012 07:40 PM

it's a wild thing...

Clodfobble 07-10-2012 11:25 PM

I think there should be more paintings of alligators in the world. Oh and seahorses. I'd love to see the JBK interpretation of a seahorse.

I'm in love with the seahorses... (2:00 mark)

btw, adding &start=120s or #t=2m does not work any more. Did I not get a memo?

Here's the memo. Use the first command line parameter, but leave off the "s" for seconds. Quote this post for an example.

ETA: Quoting this post does not get the content of my quote of footfootfoot's post. Sorry for that mistake. Here is the syntax for starting at a time certain:

[ YOUTUBE ] skCV2L0c6K0 &start=120 [ /YOUTUBE ]
(without the spaces)

That's what came into my mind too. The other week my nephew and I were doing the seahorse bit.

That's not very christian of you.

JBKlyde 07-11-2012 02:26 PM

If you were truly concerned about me acting like a christian you wouldn't have said to 'paint satan'.

Spexxvet 07-11-2012 02:45 PM

It's you who should be concerned about your acting like a christian.

JBKlyde 07-11-2012 03:16 PM

well for all I know you are satan and the way you present your self I'd say you have some sort of demonic spirit about you...

glatt 07-11-2012 03:26 PM

Dude, Satan is sneaky. He's not going to act like he's got some sort of demonic spirit about him. He's going to seem nice.

Like me. :)

infinite monkey 07-11-2012 03:34 PM

Aaron Altman: I think we have the kind of friendship where if I were the devil, you'd be the only one I would tell.
_________________________________________________________________
Aaron Altman: I know you care about him. I've never seen you like this about anyone, so please don't take it wrong when I tell you that I believe that Tom, while a very nice guy, is the Devil.
Jane Craig: This isn't friendship.
Aaron Altman: What do you think the Devil is going to look like if he's around? Nobody is going to be taken in if he has a long, red, pointy tail. No. I'm semi-serious here. He will look attractive and he will be nice and helpful and he will get a job where he influences a great God-fearing nation and he will never do an evil thing... he will just bit by little bit lower standards where they are important. Just coax along flash over substance... Just a tiny bit. And he will talk about all of us really being salesmen. And he'll get all the great women.

BigV 07-11-2012 09:03 PM

JBKlyde 07-11-2012 09:14 PM

Undertoad 07-11-2012 09:21 PM

But then again, you could be mistaken.

JBKlyde 07-11-2012 10:02 PM

I told you, I am GOD! I challenge you to disprove my claim.

jimhelm 07-12-2012 09:36 AM

can you paint something that represents the word 'Faith'?

JBKlyde 07-12-2012 09:37 AM

cause if you spell GOD back words it spells DOG and that's what you are..

infinite monkey 07-12-2012 09:39 AM

Sit Ubu, sit.

And Ubu spelled backwards is...Ubu! Coincidence? I think not!

JBKlyde 07-12-2012 09:42 AM

maybe something like a cross in stain glass but really i'm a mud painter so it wouldn't come out right...

jimhelm 07-12-2012 09:44 AM

no no no. A cross may represent your religion... or your faith...

I mean Faith itself.

what does faith mean? belief despite the lack of evidence. how would you paint that?

JBKlyde 07-12-2012 09:52 AM

well I don't have to paint jesus on the cross.. just an empty cross decorated to my specifications,,

BigV 07-12-2012 09:53 AM

Painting something that symbolically represents his faith, or an aspect of his faith could be done. Faith like a rock, or an image that evokes the idea of trust.

sexobon 07-13-2012 12:08 AM

How about a painting of the twelve disciples playing poker with Elvis.

Trilby 07-13-2012 07:24 AM

Paint Loves Me Like the Rock of Ages (oh, loves me - she loves me loves me loves me loves me).

Or seahorses (a very good idea) Or you could paint your dinner at outback. That would be cool.

Or paint the thorn in your side. One time my sponsor painted a bottle within a bottle to represent her struggle with booze. What do you struggle with?

Undertoad 07-13-2012 08:40 AM

Paint me like one of your French girls.

Here's a picture of a Rock I took some time ago.

It that supposed to be a VW Bug? It vaguely resembles one from this angle.

infinite monkey 07-13-2012 12:27 PM

No, because no one is running into it.

BigV 07-13-2012 01:28 PM

*thnort!*

ZenGum 07-13-2012 10:18 PM

You should drive a Rock, then, Infi. Let the #$%&ers hit that.

infinite monkey 07-14-2012 08:56 AM

Good idea.

Turns out my 'friend' hit my car. Turns out said friend knew he did it but since I thought he didn't he thought maybe he didn't either. WTF? Yeah, I know. I think he has a brain tumor: he used to be one of the most honest people I know.

But I confronted him last night, and he said if everyone says he did it maybe he did and he could report it on his insurance.

I shouldn't have had to say anything. It was eating me up. And I understand why my friends who told me that he did it (one was there, and the neighbors also told one of them later that R did it) didn't want to get into the middle and I appreciate that they told me the truth but in a way I think they should have said "you're doing her wrong, really wrong, man...you better get your shit together." These people said that their loyalty is to me if it came to that but in my mind it DID come to that and I would have loved it if for once in my goddam life someone stuck up for me.

I need new friends.
