Facebook C&P statuses / Bullying
annoy the hell out of me.... I finally put the worst offender friend on ignore after she posted this one:
Quote:
And she is a friend. But really? |
I don't think it's bullying. Those statuses are just the same as all the 'pass this on or you're going to grow big pimples on your arse' type emails. Just ignore them if you don't like them. Some of them are ok, but others get a bit old after a while.
Having plenty of teenagers on my fb, I see a lot of this stuff. |
Isn't using the "Quote" button the same as "cut & paste"?
/My flame war, let me drag you into it.... |
Monster - I ignore most of them, and have put up the odd spoof to show my scorn, but just sometimes I'll do as I'm asked for people who I know have a real, personal reason ...

ur sew nt kewl:p:

Was just looking at fb and came across this - which is the first spoof I'd seen. Love it.

Woah, wait, what? How'd you do that, casi?
 |
Let's wait a bit and see if he's still speaking to me. :D

No, but she was more cleverer...clicking on her link takes you to the poster she posteded.

The little arrow thingy when you quote someone.
|
I ignore all those status C&P things. There is one that bugs me, simply because my mom had a huge guilt button installed in her children, and it says something like...IF YOU LOVE JESUS...THIS IS A TEST OF YOUR LOVE FOR GOD...IF YOU DON'T PASTE THIS...something somethign something, probably I'm going to hell for ever and ever and ever. :mad2:
To put someone's quote under someone else's name, just multi-quote, then remove the quote symbols in between the name and the quote you want credited. |
I had to steal Casi's C&P message.
I can't hardly stand to look at Facebook. Now I'm defecting (read: defecating) and moving to Google+. |
Are you on Google+ already? How do you like it?
I'm going to try it out as soon as I can. |
I scoffed the first time I read this one:

Is scoffed used differently in Australia?
|
It's like a laugh that's stiffled. Or at least that's one definition. There's the one about not really believing what you're seeing or being told, but that wasn't the definition I was using.

How would the Stateside dwellars use it? |
Usually to disregard with derision, which I pretty much figured Ali wasn't doing.

Well I have toyed with Google+ for a few days. It has some nicer bells and whistles but I think it also has some major privacy issues.

Dunno if its true or not, but ...

"Bullying" isn't quite the right term.
"Mindlessly forwarding on pseudo-poignant statements" is, however. And you'll find it is the same people who used to send email forwards, back in the day (the day before we built a ceremonial bonfire and then threw all the forwaders we could find on top of it, like Odin demanded). |
