As a refugee from what the US sees as a "Nanny State" I have to say this shit would never even be considered as vaguely legal there.

So let's regress. You referred to this as a "nanny state" thing. But it's not, the article you cite is about control rather than nurturing. that's Big Brother, not nanny. and you're not against nannying, anyway. You've stated previously you interfere in your daughters' lives that way. But you do it to protect them.
