July 22, 2010: A Whale of a Day

We were sailing along, on a peaceful day.

You could see the whales swimming, they seemed to say:

Hello!

Right whale didn't go wrong, it went left. Disaster always follows those who turn to the left.:p:

Anyone know what kind of ship that is in the background of the second pic?

xoxoxoBruce 07-22-2010 01:40 AM

Coal or ore carrier.

SPUCK 07-22-2010 05:34 AM

Scrap metal.

LOL that boat earned its name.

jefffsmith 07-22-2010 06:09 AM

Little known fact: Sailboats are great back scratchers for whales.

Gravy--Mind yer English! It ain't "Must have WENT"--it's "Must have GONE--" Ain't yuh got no fetchin' up?

Son opines " The whale was last seen swimming off after giving the finger to the boat's driver."

xoxoxoBruce 07-22-2010 07:44 PM

The whale gave a pound (or more) of flesh for that stunt. :(

Since it was mating season, I wonder if it was part of a courtship ritual, or the whale thought the boat was a rival?

toranokaze 07-22-2010 09:56 PM

No that whale just lost a bet.

sweetwater 07-23-2010 07:08 AM

Maybe the whale caught a rerun of Free Willy and was trying to reenact the final scene.

Aliantha 07-23-2010 07:38 AM

We were watching the video footage of this tonight and it reminded me of that scene from the movie 'Hancock'.

He was upset because the boat had a bigger spar.

Gravdigr 08-08-2010 05:15 AM
