Spring Has Sprung

I guess spring is officially here.

Today I saw a dove sitting in a hanging pot on the clothes line. I said to myself, "Self, that's an odd place for a dove." The pics tell the rest of the story.

Awww...how cute!

xoxoxoBruce 03-26-2010 02:07 PM

Isn't that "Hens 'n Chicks" in the pot?

That made me lol

spudcon 03-26-2010 11:47 PM

I think that's called a squab

Griff 03-27-2010 06:14 AM

14 degrees F here this morning, Spring is postponed until further notice.

It is gonna take a flock of those for a decent meal though spud.

Not til it's cooked. 'Til then it's just a flying rat's country cousin.

And, yes, I think that is 'hens & chicks'.

skysidhe 03-28-2010 12:58 AM

There isn't much nesting material in that pot.Maybe she had to lay those eggs fast. :)

xoxoxoBruce 03-28-2010 01:47 AM

Just needed a perimeter to keep them in the center, she had that nice soft green stuff to lay the eggs on.

skysidhe 03-30-2010 08:42 PM

I suppose. I wonder how she's doing.

monster 03-30-2010 10:04 PM

Slowly, at 350F with a little sage and onion, I suspect.

Elspode 03-31-2010 05:28 PM

Just a shade under 80 degrees F here today as I sit here typing this from an open air coffee shoppe. We had nine inches of snowfall ten days ago.

jinx 03-31-2010 07:31 PM

Snowed here yesterday, gorgeous t-shirt weather today.

Latest dove pics taken through this thingie here.

skysidhe 04-01-2010 03:58 PM

very nice! That's a very trusting dove even with the thingie there.

Gravdigr 04-01-2010 04:05 PM

That's about 75 feet! She ain't that trusting.

skysidhe 04-01-2010 08:26 PM

no, I meant the fact she is on a low hanging pot on a clothesline and out in the open.

I'd feel especially blessed if a dove took roost so close to my viewing pleasure.:)

Today's Spring project at TF's house:

classicman 04-04-2010 09:56 AM

Hows that filter work when the water volume is high? Does it just wash off or???
Looks pretty neat though. I'm very curious.

When the Daffodils flower it must officially be Spring. They're two to three weeks late this year.

Not sure what this tree is, but it makes for a reasonable photo.

Carruthers, you have a lovely driveway.

jinx 04-14-2010 11:52 AM

Shawnee123 04-14-2010 11:52 AM

I NEVER said that!!!!!! Who says I said that? He said that and she said that but I never said that. That isn't what I'm saying. My point is that I said he said Spring said and Sprung said...
