NFL Playoffs

this Cardinals Packers game is crazy..... 45-45 with 45 seconds left.....

lumberjim 01-10-2010 06:53 PM

ouch. Rackers missed a 34 yarder that would have won the game. shanked it left......that's gonna leave a mark.

Griff 01-10-2010 07:17 PM

Weird one, I was pulling for Rodgers.

Pats lose, it is a good day.

Elspode 01-10-2010 07:39 PM

I missed the second half due to a grandbaby visit. When I turned it off, I'd have sworn that GB was gonna roll over and die.

lumberjim 01-10-2010 07:47 PM

The Pack mounted a remarkable comeback from what looked like a sleeper hold by the cards..... got it to OT, but Mr Rodgers fumbled at a most inopportune moment and then actually hackey sack kicked the ball right into a Cardinal defender's hands....who promptly returned the ball to the unobstructed endzone.

I am pleased by this. In my best case scenario, the Cowboys will beat the Viking in MN, and the Cards will eek one out in the bayou. This would bring the Cards to our house for the Championship.

In the AFC, next week pits the Ravens against the Colts, and the Jets against the Bolts.

given my druthers, the Colts and Chargers win....and then the Chargers visit Indy and fail.

Colts v Cowboys in the Superbowl is what I want. A rematch of the Super Bowl the (season) year I was born. The Colts won 16-13.

 what are your picks, L123?

Pico and ME 01-16-2010 02:04 PM

Ravens
at
Colts
because I'm a Hoosier and Manning is the man

Cardinals
at
Saints
because Warner and Fitzgerald were awesome in FF (even though I didn't make it into the playoffs)

Cowboys
at
Vikings
because I like Favre anyway

Jets
at
Chargers
because...ummm, I really don't know why

lookout123 01-16-2010 04:08 PM

My picks? They are the ones in green. Red means loss in my little brain. Colts, Cardinals, Cowboys, Chargers if you don't want to go back and look.

monster 01-16-2010 05:08 PM

oh, I didn't notice the color difference -they all looked gray until you said that....

Clodfobble 01-16-2010 09:13 PM

I thought you were joking, Lookout... and then I went back a page and found out some of them are really green after all. Crazy.

monster 01-16-2010 09:22 PM

Glad it's not just me going blind....

lookout123 01-16-2010 10:12 PM

Sorry. The green pretty much jumps out on my screen. I thought you were making fun of me at first.

Elspode 01-17-2010 01:54 PM

Third quarter, and Vikes are starting to hand the Cowboys their asses.

monster 01-17-2010 05:14 PM

oooh 3/3 so far....

classicman 01-17-2010 05:15 PM

home teams rule in the playoffs

Griff 01-18-2010 06:42 AM

Except that last game... go me! The Championship games look like tough calls. *

*Past results do not guarantee shit mostly cuz griff knows next to nuthin' about football.

classicman 01-18-2010 07:39 AM

yeh - the Jets pulled tat one out. Man the Chargers looked Baaaaad - heck they seemed to have about as many dropped passes as the Eagles normally do/did.

I'm feelin Indy and Nawlins.

Griff 01-18-2010 07:48 AM

I've been rooting Saints right along. I like the Colts as well but their lack of ground game makes me nervous. Sanchez is just fun to watch. This is the up side of Pitt being out, I can watch the other teams and just appreciate how they're doing it without being invested.

classicman 01-18-2010 12:06 PM

Good point Griff - Once my team is out, I still enjoy watching the other teams play without the emotional investment as well.

Elspode 01-18-2010 10:12 PM

Predictions for the League Championships?

I say Colts and Vikes in the "Big Game"...that is, if the Vikes didn't peak last weekend. It is entirely possible. And I think the Jets Cinderella run has, well, run it's course.

classicman 01-18-2010 10:20 PM

Colts Saints... although I would love the story of Brett Favre playin one more time in the Superbowl.

jinx 01-18-2010 10:22 PM

I would like to see the vikings in the super bowl. I would root for them.

lumberjim 01-18-2010 10:33 PM

i think this is one of those years where the two championship games will be WAY better than the Super Bowl.

We've been very fortunate the last few years, and have had some entertaining Superbowls to watch.... this year...I'm Feeling a decided NFC Edge. I'd prefer to watch the Vikings win vs the Colts......( mostly because I can then tell myself that the Boys lost to the best...and are therefore potentially #2 in the league)

truth is, i like all 4 of the remaining teams..... the Colts are my AFC favorite, and the Vikings are dicks for having an ex eagles coach who ran up the score on us......so...... I'm backing Indy......for the muthafuckin win

Madman 01-19-2010 07:52 AM

Always been a Viking fan - even when their inconsistency ticked me off.

Go Vikings! :)

Shawnee123 01-19-2010 08:20 AM

Saints, Colts.

Just because Manning is a class act, I'll say Colts for the title.

Spexxvet 01-19-2010 09:28 AM

Colts V Saints.

Elspode 01-24-2010 05:09 PM

Colts vs somebody, that's definite as of right now. I'm pulling for the Vikes, I think. Old school football.

Elspode 01-24-2010 08:22 PM

4th Quarter, 9:00 to go, and the Vikes are doing everything they can to give this game to the Saints.

classicman 01-24-2010 08:28 PM

6 turnovers?!?!?!?!? Its amazing they are still close.

glatt 01-24-2010 08:28 PM

Brett's looking old. Poor guy is getting hammered. Tough guy though.

lumberjim 01-24-2010 08:41 PM

looking like it might go to OT.... this has been a great game.

unless the vikes turn the fucking thing over agian, that is.

lumberjim 01-24-2010 09:19 PM

horseshit refs.

that was NOT a catch.

this prick better miss the field goal.

If not....we'll have another year of Favre retirement drama

lumberjim 01-24-2010 09:19 PM

shit

xoxoxoBruce 01-24-2010 11:33 PM

I'm betting the superbowl won't be as good.

classicman 01-25-2010 08:14 AM

It should be a good one - Two of the top rated teams. Peyton against Bush...

All the Katrina crap we're gonna hear for the next few weeks, well thats another story. :greenface

Madman 01-25-2010 08:18 AM

I'm going with the Saints. Only because they've never been in or won the Superbowl.

Brett Favre... He's one tough Quarterback.

lumberjim 01-26-2010 09:54 AM

Obama likes the Saints.

classicman 01-26-2010 11:52 AM

I'm stickin' with Peyton. I'm already sick of the Saints.

glatt 01-26-2010 01:11 PM

I'm going with the Saints. Partly because my wife is going with the Colts and it will make the game more fun to watch if I can trash talk somebody.

Griff 01-28-2010 05:23 AM

Saints. Brees was my fantasy QB and Manning was Pete's so we're split as well.

monster 01-28-2010 10:14 PM

I think I want it to be the Saints, but Colts is my pick.

lumberjim 01-31-2010 07:41 PM

PRO BOWL....

It only took Donovan 5 plays to throw an interception......although he lucked out with a penalty.... and his 2nd pass should have been picked.....

but Jaworski still wants to have his babies. go figure

lumberjim 01-31-2010 08:28 PM

THERE WE GO... Donovan finally managed to throw a pick,...after 5 tries....and to a former Iggle no less..... B Dawk with the INT, and the lateral...and the shenannigans...

classicman 01-31-2010 09:40 PM

you really watching that shit?

lumberjim 01-31-2010 10:35 PM

yeah...I'm a junkie.....romo threw an INT to seal the AFC's victory..... mook.
