No fair using my list twice man....sorta. You beat me with my list this year. I will need a bit to come up with the money as funds are a bit tight.

monster 12-27-2009 09:14 PM

So the second list is your real one, classic?

oh and wait... last year radar had two lists and classic took the spare BUT castro featured in both, so I reckon that makes the second list null and void as you can't play for two teams..... you should both hit the tip jar with whatever you can afford whenever...

classicman 12-27-2009 09:50 PM

yes Monnie - the first was/is a wish list.

Spexxvet 12-28-2009 07:58 AM

I don't think you're allowed to dislike Nancy Pelosi and Rush Limbaugh at the same time. It sets up a kind of disharmonic resonance that could cause a rip in the space time continuum. We're getting too close to 2012 to be risking that kind of shit.

classicman 12-28-2009 09:30 AM

lol - yeh that it does.

Shawnee123 12-28-2009 09:43 AM

1) Tara Reid

5) Ed Ames

BrianR 12-28-2009 09:48 AM

I'm confused. Is this a wish list or a prediction list?

TheMercenary 12-28-2009 09:57 AM

either or. Wishing on your list is a bit morbid but it is allowable.

This is a list of 10 people you think may pass in 2010. IF they do you get points based upon a VERY complicated scoring system (he he he)

I threw in a wish list because, well just because.

TheMercenary 12-28-2009 10:27 AM

My wish list is short, or long depending on how you look at it.

All of the sitting Congress. With Reid and Pelosi at the front of the line. The rest can follow over the cliff like sheep.

Shawnee123 12-28-2009 11:27 AM

It's not really a wish list, so post a list of people who might die in 2010 or shut the fuck up.

TheMercenary 12-28-2009 11:34 AM

No.

Shawnee123 12-28-2009 11:35 AM

Oh yeah, and shut the fuck up.

TheMercenary 12-28-2009 11:37 AM

um. no.

Shawnee123 12-28-2009 11:38 AM

Oh, and...

(wait for it)

shut the fuck up!

What, you can't find an article to quote so you have no ideas?

TheMercenary 12-28-2009 11:56 AM

Wait I'll find one for you...

TheMercenary 12-28-2009 11:57 AM

I found one!

Shawnee123 12-28-2009 11:59 AM

That does me no good, you didn't cut and paste most of it! ;)

TheMercenary 12-28-2009 12:00 PM

Ok. Let me try.

Spexxvet 12-28-2009 12:09 PM

Don't forget the charts and graphs, in color please.

Scriveyn 12-28-2009 01:17 PM

ok, so here's my attempt

James Earl "Jimmy" Carter, Jr. (born October 1, 1924)
Blake Fielder-Civil (born August 1978) (until recently Amy Winehouse's hubby)
Margaret Hilda Thatcher, Baroness Thatcher (born 13 October 1925)
Tony Curtis (born June 3, 1925)
Hugh Hefner (born April 9, 1926)
Doris May Lessing (born 22 October 1919)
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (born 28 October 1956)
Michael Schumacher (born 3 January 1969)
Helmut Kohl (born 3 April 1930)
John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (born December 3, 1948)

lookout123 12-28-2009 02:31 PM

William Shatner
Lindsey Lohan
Tiger Woods
Artie Lang
Courtney Love
Jimmy Carter
Hugh Hefner
Holly Madison
Doug Stanhope
Barack Obama (no worries though, he'll come back to life 3 days later.)

Undertoad 12-28-2009 02:41 PM

I can't see Artie Lange surviving past summer.

Radar 12-29-2009 08:36 AM

I believe the scoring system we've always used is subtract their age from 100 and that's the number of points you get.

Here's my list this year.

1. Abe Vigoda
2. George Steinbrenner
3. Billy Graham
4. Nancy Reagan
5. Kim Jong Il
6. Mickey Rooney
7. Kirk Douglas
8. Peter O'Toole
9. Fidel Castro
10. Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi

My secondary list, which doesn't count for the game, but which is still very strong is...

1. Andy Griffith
2. Jerry Lewis
3. Elizabeth Taylor
4. Muhammad Ali
5. Bob Barker
6. Ernest Borgnine
7. Sidney Poitier
8. Severiano "Seve" Ballesteros Sota
9. Peter Falk
10. Dick Clark

I'm not taking any bets against my secondary list this year.

Yeh, I was joking about the complicated part.

Wise decision

Sundae 12-29-2009 10:07 AM

Okay, little amended from last year.
Sorry I killed off John Mortimer and Bobby Robson.
It never worked with Thatcher. Maybe third time's the charm, eh?

Ronnie Biggs
Fidel Castro
Margaret Thatcher
Patrick Moore
Norman Wisdom
Mickey Rooney
Clive Dunn
Nancy Reagan
Ariel Sharon
Prince Philip

I debated between Nancy and Betty Ford, but Nancy would get me more points. However I expect a special mention if Betty carks it.

Oh and I promise $50 to the tip jar if we see off Maggie this year. It might not come all at once, but I will honour my promise within 6 months of the joyous event.

Does that count as an incentive to an assassin?

Radar 12-29-2009 10:18 AM

I thought about Betty Ford too and Harry Morgan from Mash, but I didn't go with them.

Radar, at the end of the year: "I TOLD you I was thinking about picking them...see how smart I am? It's in ONE of my 16 lists!" ;)

My list is every celebrity on earth who is still alive! :p

Radar 12-29-2009 10:33 AM

Shawnee, all I'm saying is I considered Betty Ford. She was on my group of people that I had actually typed up. I had a lot to pick from. That's why I came up with 2 lists.

Only 1 list counts for each of us though. It's the only list that matters. If Betty Ford or Harry Morgan died, I won't say "I told you I thought about them." I'll probably say, "Dammit, I picked the wrong names for the long list of possible choices."

Shawnee123 12-29-2009 10:42 AM

Here're some people who might die next year:

Carrie Underwood
Emma Watson

Matt Damon
Ricky Martin
Brad Pitt
Keanu Reeves
Orlando Bloom

Radar 12-29-2009 10:55 AM

In that case, I submit all entries from IMDB.

Madman 12-29-2009 10:56 AM

I guess the morbidity of this thread is open to even a Madman. Here's my... <cough> unhopefulls.

John Astin
Jean Stapleton
Andy Griffith
Hal Linden
Adam West
David Hasselhoff
Bob Newhart
Kirstie Alley
Michael J. Fox
James Arness

Actually, I hope they are all still alive. They are... 99% sure of it.

Radar 12-29-2009 11:01 AM

You're welcome to play Madman. I hope you're wrong about John Astin, Adam West, Bob Newhart, and Michael J. Fox. I really like them.

Madman 12-29-2009 11:03 AM

Personally, I hope I'm wrong too. I like all of them.

Which one do you mean? The Senator, the TV/radio presenter, the basketball player or another?

And one more question: If a celeb, born say 1. August 1950, kicks the bucket on 31. July 2010, do we score 41 or 40 points? - In other words, does the plain year of birth count, or do we take into account the number of years (arithmetically) fully lived? :3_eyes:

Radar 12-29-2009 11:30 AM

That would be 41 points unless we have a tie. Then we'd go by fractions of years.

I'm pretty Dick Clark refers to the radio, television, and movie star and producer famous for American Band Stand, TV Bloopers, and New Year's Rockin' Eve.

Richard Wagstaff Clark

That's just the way we've always done it. I mean if everyone wants to change it for next year, we could try to all hash that out.

Shawnee123 12-29-2009 12:20 PM

I don't really care: I only started playing last year I think.

My memory tells me there were questions about scoring earlier this year, so "this is the way WE'VE always done it" didn't seem to be an option.

Carry on, my deadward sons.

It's age. On July 31, 2010, the celeb would be 59. 100 minus 59 equals 41 points.

Shawnee123 12-29-2009 12:49 PM

OK, what if a celeb was born in, say, 1920. Then he dies in 2008. Then he is reincarnated as a Jonas Brother, and dies again in 2010. Which age should we use?

Scriveyn 12-29-2009 12:55 PM

reincarnated in 2008, dies in 2010? - You score a whopping 98 points

Shawnee123 12-29-2009 12:58 PM

Well, isn't that the proper age range for one of those guys?

(in head: darnit, should've thought that one through a bit more.)

No Jonas brother is a celeb. I call.

Well, if John Cletus Seymore Poindexter Clive Marvin Hopplestetter the Turd is a celeb, then a Jonass Brother is a celeb.

I don't think I've ever done a wish list, but I will give it a shot. My true wish list has thousands of names, but I'll try to narrow it down to 10 for the year.

1. George W. Bush
2. Dick Cheney
3. Condoleezza Rice
4. Donald Rumsfield
5. John Ashcroft
6. John Roberts
7. Sam Alito
8. Tony Perkins
9. Glenn Beck
10. Rush Limbaugh

These are among the most disgraceful people ever to sully the name of America and the world would be better off without them.
