Here ya go.

ZenGum 12-08-2009 08:31 PM

It's the little things in the background that really make pictures like this.

If the grinch tries to steal Merc's Christmas, he's gonna catch some bolt-action action, methinks.

I had been wondering why Merc needed 23 guns. I mean, various sizes and such for hunting, handguns for defence, but 23? Ahh, silly me, Christmas decorations. :smack:

Naw, I am just a collecter of various arms, not a Santa hunter.

ZenGum 12-08-2009 08:35 PM

ReinDeer Hunter, maybe?

Undertoad 12-08-2009 08:38 PM

Twenty-three guns, will never die
Twenty-three guns, Merc's battle cry
Twenty-three guns!
Twenty-three guns!

This is nice. :)
...but I'm still unpacking the decoration boxes.

Sundae 12-09-2009 08:08 AM

No tree this year.
Mum thinks we're too old. Her and Dad too old to bother, me too old to sulk about it. She's right on the sulking front - I do miss it a little though.

So a quick walk-through for you to show what we do have.

UG - thanks for the memories!
I saw The Alarm live in 1987.

Trilby 12-09-2009 09:12 AM

It's always nice to go to Sundae's house! thanks!

Dunno why it keeps coming up sideways, I rotated it...still sideways

Oh well, you get the idea.

xoxoxoBruce 12-12-2009 02:11 AM

Put some Viagra in the water

ZenGum 12-12-2009 06:16 AM

But dude, he said he just got it up last night. Don't put pressure on the guy.

BrianR 12-12-2009 11:19 AM

groan...poor choice of words. Mea culpa.

xoxoxoBruce 12-12-2009 12:21 PM

No, Brian, nothing wrong with your choice of words. You can't out maneuver the punsters, just make 'em stretch a little further, so why bother trying? ;)

Sundae 12-12-2009 01:12 PM

I've looked at this three times and it's only now occurred to me why Brian chose to decorate two trees next to eachother in an identical fashion :smack:

xoxoxoBruce 12-12-2009 01:14 PM

Heh heh heh.

ZenGum 12-12-2009 05:33 PM

It's the way the tree on the left has all the bows tied left handed that really impresses me. :D

BrianR 12-13-2009 01:17 AM

:)

My wife won't let me take down that mirror and install it above our bed. Call her modest!

Here's my tree. I used left over decorations from our office tree. I know it isn't the prettiest, but I tried. LOL. The USO gave us care packages. It was really nice of them. I stuck mine under the tree because what's a Christmas tree without gifts?

Merry Christmas & God Bless!!!

Tulip 12-13-2009 09:06 AM

I think it's a rather cute tree, Sarge. ;)

xoxoxoBruce 12-13-2009 09:54 AM

And a bad guy could hide behind a bigger one. :)

Not a Christmas tree, but I didn't want to start a whole new thread.
I'm just bigging myself up for my economic and green wrapping this year :)

Now wrapping presents for me has always been more fun than buying them. Every year I had a theme, usually a colour scheme too. I've done everything from threading bells onto ribbon to tying mini-baubles and tree-chocolates onto gift tags. Oh and brown paper with tartan ribbon - surprisingly classy.

This year, I was just going to nick Mum's leftover paper. But then came my Christmas box from the J's, and they used tissue paper to protect the items. Right, I thought, I'll snaffle that.

Then I lucked out with a Buy One Get One Free on 2 metres of wired ribbon. And I couldn't find spray glitter for <£5... so I figured the body glitter I had at home would do just as well. You really can't see the glitter in this pic - shame, it's there and it's funky.

The result is as below. Total spend (wrap-wise) £1.99. Now as you can see, only half are be-ribboned. I'm debating whether to go buy more ribbon tomorrow, or retain the ribbon from Mum, Dad & Grandad's presents for use on Boxing Day, when I see everyone else. I know what I should do... Yeah, I will. I shouldn't even have spent the £1.99 but it made me so happy!

Oh, the surface is a storage box full of my books (1 of 3). It is already glittery, that's not my doing.
ETA, the silver box in the middle came with a bracelet I bought from eBay in better times. It is being recycled to hold Mum's present.

xoxoxoBruce 12-20-2009 10:38 AM

£1.99 is pretty cheap for day, or even a few hours, of happy. ;)

Sundae 12-20-2009 11:31 AM

Cheers, Bruce. I did think so myself.
Just a little perturbed at how short 4m really is!

The dar household tree. Mrs. dar likes homemade ornaments, so most of the stuff on the tree was made by the darlets when they were younger.

You can't see it well in the first picture, but we have four bubble lights on the tree. Maybe it's the nostalgia, but they make me smile.

skysidhe 12-21-2009 10:04 AM

Nice trees everyone.Beauty, nostalgia. great

My cellphone camera blurs with the lights. I keep forgetting to get a day shot or maybe I'll try a reflecting shot off the window.

BrianR 12-21-2009 10:28 AM

I wanted to do popcorn garland on my tree. For about five seconds. Then I remembered that I have dogs. Never mind.

Love the mini-tree, Spex!
Here is my tree, which arrived this morning courtesy of Big Sarge.

I have trimmed it with the traditional colours of pink and purple as you can see.

It's outside because it was a surprise gift, and was leading to some heated discussions as to where it could be fitted in and not be in Mum's way. My ideal solution was greeted with, "No you are NOT having it in your room!" Never mind :) It is directly outside the living room patio doors, so it's being fully enjoyed.

Those are specifically outdoor lights, and there is nothing on it that would be damaged by frost or snow. In lieu of presents at the food I've scattered mealworms for the birdies. I intended to hang fat balls from the branches at the back, for (of course) they proved far too heavy. I've hung them up elsewhere.

I can't wait to see the rest of the family's reaction when they come round on Boxing Day! When my Mum told my sister about the J's food parcel she charmingly said, "They're got more money than sense." My bro will be impressed anyway, and I bet the kids are.

And I am.

limey 12-22-2009 01:37 PM

That's truly fabulous SG. Well done you (and Big Sarge!!)
(Sundae and Big Sarge, by the Xmas tree - k - i - s - s - i - n - g!)

I can't resist, I must ask. The 23 guns you mention here, are they in the Christmas tree picture above or based on previous knowledge? Because I looked and looked and looked and all I see is one rifle. :p
