The mermaid with a hairy tale...

Finally, Hebe agreed to go to a hair salon to get professional advice and a cut for her out-of-control, rapidly-shortening-through-breakage swimmer's hair.
She had a full Malibu treatment followed by a cut, we were there all freaking afternoon, but maybe we've turned the corner and we were both expecting the hairdresser to say that she needed more cut off (which she really didn't want) Here's the before and after even though they hardly cut anything off.... and and after of the back which is the biggest change of all -it looked just like the sides in the before photo. I have no hair to speak of, so I know bupkis about it all, but I did know it was time to call in the professionals and open my wallet! I think it was a good call  |
Nice Job!
|
*chuckles* nice shots. Good call.
|
Looks great! She's a great kid, too.
all monnie's kids are cool. :) |
Nice save Mon!

We've got the same thing going on with Ripley's hair, have cut off sooo much and its(was) looking bad again.
I've been putting a conditioning mask on it under her cap when she swims, I don't know what else to do. Other than dye it, which is what we did last night... I'll trim it up too but shes enjoying the bright purple ends right now. |
OMG. cute. I want one (and I've NEVER wanted children .... now I find I want one of LJs?!?!?!??!?!!?????!)
|
That is a GREAT colour (and this from a person who up until very, very recently has sworn to never, ever dye her hair).
|
Man, Hebe's was as long as Ripley's. Maybe a little longer. And broke off to where it is now. The main preventative thing to do for swimming is totally soak hair in fresh water before you get in -cap or no cap. If the hair is saturated, it takes on less of the chorine water. Same principle for skin -another reason to shower well before swimming. We're learning that big girls swimmers all do thie Malibu treatment thing -there's a version you can get to do at home, so we're going to try that. And now she's had her first professional cut, she's going to the salon from hereon in. I hope. It's nice that my kids trust me, but I have a very basic limited range of styles and teenage swimmer girl is not one of them.

cute kids

I have the kind of hair that the sun and even the minerals in tap water will leach even the natural colors so I just bought some shampoo for colored treated hair by Tresemme. It works great. It seals the cuticle keeping it from frizzing.
I've been thinking it might work on your kids swimmer hair or maybe just some swimmers shampoo even which will take the minerals and chemicals out of the hair from the pool water. This swimmers shampoo gets good reviews. I've thought about trying that before I bought the other. http://www.aubrey-organics.com/Produ...?productid=071 |

What's involved in the Malibu thing? She has swimmer shampoo too. Couple different kinds... |
the Malibu thing is a 1 hour two stage heated conditioning treatment. We now have three swimmers shampoos.....between them something must work! We have the Loreal Kids, the Paul Mitchell and a regular shampoo for damaged hair with breakage -one of the name brands, maybe Treseme or Pantene. Don't use a hair elastic to make the bun, jinx.
|
That's a really cute color in Ripley's hair, btw :)
|
I kind of liked the frizzy hair look.
|
That's why you're single.
|
:mecry:
On Hebe, not on me. Although, now you suggest it ... |
Now that I would like to see.

And here's this year's post-season cut. Isn't she all growed up?
. |
It's like a different person. Braces off. Teeth look great. Cute haircut. cool shades...
|
Scary, huh?
|
Ooh, good call on the braces, glatt. I was trying to figure out what was different besides the hair... Does Beest own a shotgun yet?
|
She looks like a young Zara Phillips.
And I mean that in a nice way (after all she's a World Champion and only prevented from being an Olympian because her horse was injured) Who'd thought the offsrping of a Beest and a Monster could possibly be so fair? |
She's really growing up! I like her hair, and her teeth!

she's a stunner!

Lovely girl!
|
Post 1 to post 19 in less than a year ... wow.
I agree. Time to buy a shotgun. Just happen to be cleaning it when boys visit. Then start "Young fella, let me tell you about the second time I was in prison..." |
Now that I think about it, I think Beest would be more intimidating sharpening a giant hunting knife instead. Maybe it's because he's British, or maybe it's just the long hair, but the knife image suits him better.
|
 I think you've got it, cf.
|
I don't have a daughter but transformations like that would give me gray hairs.
grown and beautiful in a blink of an eye |
|
Monster, Jinx: Your daughters are lovely. Kids sure grow up quickly!
