MJ is Dead

Now get the F over it. There are more important things going on in the world and in your country. Thank you.

Flint 07-07-2009 04:17 PM

Magic Johnson is dead? Well, hell, he has had AIDS for like, what, twenty years now?

Sheldonrs 07-07-2009 04:45 PM

It's a good thing MJ IS dead. Otherwise he'd be really pissed off about being in the gold coffin.

No, silly, he meant the one without AIDS, Michael Jordan.

lumberjim 07-07-2009 06:54 PM

Oh, Negro stop. The King of Poop is dead as shit.

spudcon 07-07-2009 10:51 PM

If you hear a "loud rumble" tonite in the sky, don't worry. It's not thunder.

It's Elvis beatin' the shit out of Michael Jackson for marrying his daughter.

TheMercenary 07-08-2009 07:42 AM

Heh! Good one spud. :D

Sundae 07-08-2009 11:12 AM

I had the memorial on in the background.
Shocking.
20 mins of live TV completely silent, except for journos inteviewing eachother.

I was a PA. I'd have been ashamed of that.
I lasted until some bloke I didn't know was speaking about Michael as a student. Not long into it in action terms, but too much time already chronologically. I wish they'd captioned people - I loved the performance of Maya Angelou's poem (Queen Latifah? Maybe?) despite the God refs - she read it well.

Saw Beyonce on the news (news!) singing Halo to MJ.
I didn't even know she sang that - thought it was Rihanna.

I forget (often) how many Americans are Christian. Or at least how many pay lip-service to it with no actual form of self denial or worship - something I was brought up to believe Christ advocated. It does make me a little ill, sorry. It seems to be more prevalent (or at least vocal) among black Americans, making the tributes harder for me to stomach last night.

If his soul has gone to eternal life in Paradise, why ship his husk around the city for people to talk and sing over? Tacky.

Not written to cause offence, just how I see it.

joelnwil 07-08-2009 02:34 PM

While he had a certain musical talent, I think even that was overblown. But in the last (and first) analysis, he became a lunatic drug addict with a plastic surgery fetish.

It really makes the medical profession look bad. The idea that he could hire an anesthesiologist to run around the country with him is just outrageous. Maybe the doctor should have been doing something useful, like treat real people, although if I knew he had been with Michael Jackson I certainly would not want him putting me out.

Shawnee123 07-08-2009 02:55 PM

joel, you are a lunatic drug addict pedophile booger-eater wife-beater maniac.

Well, I don't know that it's true, but I heard that. ;)

Just my point: don't believe everything you hear, or read on the bathroom wall.

That is all.

joelnwil 07-08-2009 03:37 PM

Well, there is evidence - just look at the transformation over the years, among other things.

And where did you hear that about me?

Queen of the Ryche 07-08-2009 03:43 PM

Duh Joel, the bathroom wall.......

Right below "For a good time call Shawnee..."

capnhowdy 07-08-2009 03:54 PM

I called her from the bathroom as soon as I read it. I screamed her name as loud as I could. When I came out of the bathroom there wasn't a cowboy in sight.

And yeah, Shawnee.... I never heard the part about eating boogers.

Oh, um, sorry...I wrote that.

@joel: about the surgery, well yeah, that we can see. We really don't know anything except what we heard from the media. I'm not trying to defend the man, I didn't know him either, I just am often dismayed how easily people believe things just because they've heard them over and over, that repetition makes it true.

I think there's a movie line or something about that, but it escapes me. Help, anyone?

No biggie, just pointing that out.

Sundae 07-09-2009 07:24 AM

Writing this here because it might seem irreverant elsewhere... aren't his children fair?
Fair skinned I mean, fair haired and blue eyed in the case of his daughter.

Colour is not an issue for me. But I am endlessly fascinated by the combination of genetics, which is why I love to see pics of Dwellar children and parents. This is of course even more visually stimulating when parents are of a different race. I wouldn't have guessed that Jo Jackson's grandchild could have "passed". And yes I know that's an outdated term from a prejudiced age, but she has so little of her African heritage apparant, it's the one that sprang to mind. Compare her to Lourdes Ciccone for example - who is so obviously a result of Mediterranean descent.

Shame on him for giving two sons the same name... And his own in effect! Huge ego (like Jermaine). Still, I'm sure he loved them, and that's what was important.

Shawnee123 07-09-2009 07:28 AM

lol...What about George Foreman's kids? :)

Sundae 07-09-2009 07:46 AM

Oh lord - I am guessing now, but are they all called George Foreman?

Shawnee123 07-09-2009 07:50 AM

IIRC, he has 4 boys all named George.

There are unanswered questions regarding the paternity of the children.

We need to get them on Judge David Young immediately!

TheMercenary 07-09-2009 11:43 AM

MJ is still dead.

Shawnee123 07-09-2009 12:09 PM

Generallissimo Francisco Franco is...

Eh, never mind.

Sheldonrs 07-09-2009 01:47 PM

One bit of funny info is here at MAW, we've recieved more donation money in memory of Ed McMahon than MJ. :-)

I had no idea!
That would explain it then.
