coke or pepsi?
just a choice between these two...there is no other option
|
I've been a Coke fan from the get go. Pepsi isn't carbonated enough or too sweet or something.
|
No question. Pepsi tastes better. Although a few years ago, I decided I'd stop drinking soda.
|
I feel a heated debate coming on. With Coke vs Pepsi, passions abound.
You can have my Diet Coke when you pry it from my cold dead hands. |
I grew up drinking pepsi. In my teenage years, before they invented (wonder drink) Diet Coke, I drank Tab. Ahhh, glorious saccharin-ridden Tab.
Then Diet Coke came along and that was all she wrote. (Well, she's going to write a little more.) For a time, there was a Pepsi Light. It had half the calories of Pepsi but with lemon flavoring. I liked that. |
Nasty crap, both products.
|
Sprite! Sierra Mist is vile.
|
I like Fresca!

They both suck.
I don't like softdrink. |
back in the day, when i used to drink soda....my absolute favorite was Mountain Dew. and a joint.
that's a pepsi product. coke bottled mello yello, but that sucked ass. Nowadays....when i get that gotta have a soda because water is sucking the life out of me urge....i go with diet coke. |
If I'm drinkin cola, it has to be coke - period. My preference is Fresca or something lighter like carbonated water with lemon. Usually I just drink water.
|
Coke Products ALL the way !!!
I drank reg Coke for EVER , then got on Diet coke ( reg coke just tasted funny ) , Now Coke Zero splits that difference quite nicely . |
I can't stand the diet drinks. I hate that sacharin taste (or what's the other one? It's not saccharine now is it)

true story
LONG LONG AGO
AND FAR FAR AWAY, (Central America [CA], mid '80s) I was a prince of the Coca Cola universe. While I was serving as a military liaison in Honduras, the Coca Cola Corp. had stopped producing its traditional cola and substituted reformulated New Coke back in the USA. It wasn't popular; so, a premium was placed on remaining stocks of old Coke which ultimately sold/traded for over US $100. per case. There were still stockpiles of old Coke in CA warehouses which supplied my local sources at a cost to me of just pennies per can. My fellow princes and I were drinking old Coke Cuba Libres (Nicaragua Libres if one wanted to joke at the time), using indigenous Flor de Caña, as though it was as common as water. Eventually, the Coca Cola Corp. reintroduced the old Coke formula as Coke Classic and my brief tenure as a prince of that realm became a footnote in history. As for the debate between Coke and Pepsi, I don't know how anyone can stand to drink either of them without rum in it! ;) |
If those are my only two choices, it's Coke. Except when I am eating pizza or something else tomato-ey. The sweetness balances out the acidic tomatoes.
|
Pepsi is clearly the superior drink.
Unless Vanilla Coke is bought back. That stuff was the shit. |
I much prefer Diet Pepsi, but as de-caffeinated Pepsi isn't available (in this country at least) I do drink the gold coloured Coke these days. I voted with my heart though.

I was a die-hard Coke fan, then during the aforementioned New Coke fiasco, I decided if Coke had to end its Coke line and become more like Pepsi to compete against it, then Pepsi must be the superior product. Well, as we know, Coke went back to its original formula, but the damage was done. I have been the lone Pepsi drinker in my family every since then. My wife, kids, in-laws, extended family, etc. are all Coke fiends. This is really to my advantage since no one else will touch my soda, so IT’S ALL MINE! <Greedy laughter reverberates through the house>
Seriously, diet Pepsi has always tasted more like Pepsi than diet Coke ever did with respect to Coke. I also loved the wonderful Black Cherry & French Vanilla Pepsi Jazz, but alas, I can no longer get it in my area. |
I don't usually drink either, but I do love taking an occasional swig of Coke. Pepsi is way too sweet.
|
Diet Coke is the only drink. everything else is punishment
|
I have a carbonator, "soda quick" machine.... we make our own soda, spritzers etc. Its super easy to use, and cheaper than buying bottles of pop. We use Coke syrups at work, and I get a deal on them. I prefer Pepsi, but honestly paying $0.63 cents a 2 litre makes this house drink coke now.
|
I don't have a strong preference either way, which is good because at a restaurant I always seem to order the one they don't have there.

Most people may not notice, but I surely do. I can tell the difference in flavor between bottling dates. |
I like Pepsi but for occasional pain a Tylenol and a coke always does the trick.
It doesn't work with Pepsi only Coke. |

Caffiene is a mild pain killer, FWIW. |

What's that? |
When you grow up in Georgia, you drink Coke. Or maybe RC Cola.
I wish they'd go back to using sugar and scrap that gawd-forsaken HFCS. |

oh and I like real sugar too. |

I used to like Coke, but since the mid-90s, I prefer Pepsi. Overall, I prefer Dr Pepper, though.
Anyone had the "new" Pepsi and Mt Dew with sugar instead of HFCS? I like the Pepsi one, but not the Mt Dew. Some of the Latino and specialty grocery stores here sell certain varieties of imported soda that contain sugar...usually Pepsi or Coke. There's also Dublin Dr Pepper, which is made by a bottler down in Texas that still uses sugar. |
"Did you ever go into a restaurant and say, 'Hey! I'd like a Coke.' And they say, 'No, we only serve Pepsi.' And you went, 'Well, fuck you! Son of a bitch! What kind of a dump is this? Well listen, Fucknuts, I’m goin' across the street! I'm gonna go eat at Buckets of Shit. That's right! Buckets of Shit! I know the food's lousy, but they serve a Coke!'"

I drink Dr. Pepper usually, but between those two it's Pepsi. Coke is for mixing with rum.
