Anybody else playing April Fools jokes today?

I've been going up to people at work at letting them know that I've given my 2 weeks notice. :-)
The responses have been gratifying. hehehe

You don't need to be creative. will do.

Nah... I work alone, my kids are too little to trick, and I don't really feel like orchestrating something to fool my friends.

Ahh, each new generation of jokesters and wise asses always brings a tear to my eye. :-)

I just got email from darlet #1 who is in Mexico on a school sponsored trip for advanced Spanish classes.

Apparently his parents called school and someone from school called here to talk with the teachers. So he's in big trouble, but no one is in danger.

:headshake What a maroon.

Oh man. Bad idea, kid.

Yznhymr 04-01-2009 01:46 PM

Yeah, I pulled a joke on the wife. It was an elaborate joke involving money (or the lack thereof). She hung up on me. Maybe it worked too well. :smack:

I love Google's CADIE joke... those guys are twisted!

Last night the crew chief from our ambulance called in to say that his wife was being induced today.

After thinking it over carefully we all decided that he was probably telling the truth as he really doesn't have enough of a personality to engage in April Fooling.

Also, his wife who is one of my dept heads is a high risk pregnancy, and they're probably going in even if she is about a month away from her due date.

I love how responsible and considerate darlet#1 is. Emailing you to make sure you aren't worried. What a sweetie.

dar512 04-02-2009 09:01 AM

Thanks, Dana. Yup, she's a keeper.

Nice. Very subtle, yet he knew it was something that would get a grownup's attention... you better watch him when he gets older, he's a devious one.

A day late, but my biology professor pulled one off today. He handed out a pop quiz, which is normal for him. Then we all sat there with our jaws hanging to the floor because all the questions were ridiculous chemical equations, somewhat relating to what we are learning but much much more in-depth and complicated. He let this go on for about a min or so before he said "Not really. That's all senior level chemistry major questions." Sneaky sneaky!

I'm pulling a few tricks today, because nobody will be expecting anything. ;)

Remember the key element to a good trick is surprise and fear.

Especially fear.

dar512 04-03-2009 12:09 PM

I always thought a good trick was all about the sex.

Did I say that out loud?

Cicero 04-03-2009 04:51 PM

Ha! Good one Sheldon! LOL!

I hope you notified them of the joke before your desk got taken....Though after is good though too....:)

Cloud 04-03-2009 06:05 PM

April Fool's jokes are almost always very mean. :(

monster 04-03-2009 09:00 PM

You need to mix with different sorts of folk, Cloud!

piercehawkeye45 04-04-2009 07:22 PM

I said the condom broke....positive results. It scared her but she thought it was funny.

Later that day, she told me her friend's boyfriend called her (friend) saying he tested positive for HIV. Not so positive results....
